As I quietly sit in my cushioned chair, my left hand in a fist for me to rest my cheek upon, my eyes drifted from the book to the window, where the sunlight filtered through the curtains in a soft, dim glow. The room filled with a peaceful silence, broken only by the occasional rustle of pages as I turn them.

Upon hearing my study door being quietly opened and the sound of it less quietly closing, the familiar footsteps that sound light and bouncy approach me from behind. A subtle, gentle smile graces my lips as I hear a familiar, cheery voice from behind me with an odd hint of seriousness.

"My highness... Your mother and father request that you make your way down and join them in the Throne Room." Viviana, my right hand maid, speaks with delight but with an undertone of uncertainty.

I turn my head to face her, a few strands of my long black hair fall off my shoulders. My blue eyes meet her bright green ones. Unease evident in the way she quickly looks away before connecting her eyes with mine again.

"Is this a time when I should call you Vivi or Viviana?" I hope that with this question she will relax, and she does.

With a nervous laugh, she responds, "Viviana."

I nod as I hesitantly arise from my seat, closing my book in the process. The fabric cover almost comforting in a sense. With another nod, I push my seat in, the golden frame cold to the touch and the cushioned velvet soft, retaining much of the bodily heat it took when I was sitting there reading for an hour or two. The wooden table I was sitting on just a mere moment ago made of dark oak with fine golden corners with intricate carvings depicting Camellia Japonica. Its carved petals perfectly round and symmetrical.

The shelves around me filled to the brim with books and odd trinkets that I find myself entranced by. The room itself is dimly lit, with the only source of light coming from the antique chandelier hanging above me, casting a warm glow on the surroundings. The faint scent of old books and dried flowers lingers in the air, adding to the cozy atmosphere of the space.

Sucking in one final breath through my nose, I exhaled slowly, finally taking a few steps towards Viviana. Dressed in the regular royal maid outfit that she always wore, yet with that red hair, bright smile, and soft yellow and white fuzzy moth wings at her back. She truly was a sight to behold for a regular Moonfolk.

"Lets go." My words make Vivi's wings flutter gently as she gives a small, playful smile as she extends her arm out towards the door.

"After you, my royal highness." Her tone ever so teasing as the day we met.

With a soft chuckle, I follow up her words with, "Always the charmer, Vivi." I reply, feeling a warmth in my chest at her playful words. She's easing me for what's to come.

I walk out the room with Vivi following closely behind me. As we make our way down the corridor, I can't help but feel grateful for her presence by my side. My heels clanking against the cold marble floors. The pair pf heels made of a shimmering, silvery fabric designed with a pointed toe, which is adorned with a delicate, pale blue bow made of soft, sheer fabric. At the center of each bow, there is an intricate embellishment that includes pearls and tiny crystals adding a touch of opulence and sophistication.
