Brian Ashford sighed heavily, the sound mingling with his spoon clinking against the ceramic mug as he stirred his decaffeinated coffee. The sunlight filtered through the kitchen window, casting a warm glow on the pages of the manual his eccentric cousin, Bubbles, had given him. Adjusting his glasses, he squinted at the fine print, feeling a mix of confusion and curiosity wash over him.

"Jesus Christ... I didn't know there would've been a manual for my other abilities..." he muttered, struggling to decipher the dense instructions. He chuckled softly at the thought; at least he wouldn't constantly depend on his technology for temporary activation.

"I just need to train with these..." His laughter faded as he continued to scroll through the pages, eyeing the whimsical online-printed drawings of the 2D holographic insignias that danced across the paper.

"Huh- that now makes me wonder how my cousin was able to manage some part of her ability of control—"

*BAM!*

"A promising greatest invention: a positronic neural network!"

"JESUS—FUDGE CAKES!"

The sudden exclamation tore through the tranquility of the kitchen, causing Brian to nearly spit out his coffee in shock. The mug slipped from his fingers, and in a split second, he found himself flailing and tumbling out of his chair, crashing to the floor. The rich brown liquid of his decaffeinated coffee splattered across the manual, the pages absorbing the aftermath of his surprise.

A giant red and gray robot with menacing yellow-glowing accents loomed over him, its abrupt appearance sending adrenaline surging through his veins. The robot's towering frame seemed to occupy every ounce of space, and Brian couldn't help but be taken aback, wishing he had received some forewarning about this unexpected visitor.

"Hey, Brian!" Aki's voice broke through the chaos, his sheepish chuckle filled with the youthful exuberance that often accompanied his antics. He glanced at Brian, still sprawled awkwardly on the floor. "Sorry about not letting you know about this guy's presence..."

"It's alright..." Brian assured, pushing himself into a sitting position and brushing off crumbs and debris. "It's not as bad as getting your lamp constantly broken."

He glanced at the lamp on the stand, a silent witness to countless clumsy moments. An inexplicable frustration bubbled within him; whenever chaos erupted in the house, the lamp was always the unfortunate casualty.

"Say, who is this guy?" he inquired, jabbing a finger toward the massive robot gleaming under the kitchen lights.

"He's Gustav Gütsman." Suna chimed in, her excitement barely contained as she offered him a hand to help him up. "He came here to propose an invention for Doctor Light."

"Ah... I see." The tech-medic adjusted his glasses again, this time focusing on Gustav, who stood proudly amidst the disarray.

Dr. Light's son and daughter helped Brian to his feet, and soon, the three were settled onto floating chairs, the cushions gently cradling their weights. Rush, the faithful dog, remained loyally by Aki's side, his tail wagging as he used the kitchen counter for support, intensifying the air of animated curiosity in the room. Brian hastily grabbed the coffee-soaked manual, shaking it dry with slight irritation before tucking it behind him. His palm glowed with a soft sea-green aura, the familiar warmth of his ability wrapping around the manual as it warped away into a mini-subspace, safe from harm.
