In Between

Realization.

It was Dani's birthday tomorrow. She didn't want to celebrate but her brother and everyone else told her she had to since it was her first birthday back. She truly didn't want to celebrate. The last time she celebrated her parents started a fight. Every year something bad happens on her birthday.

"Dani get your ass fucking up it's your birthday come on!" Olivia said trying to get Dani up. Dani really didn't want to do anything. She would rather stay in bed and binge watch everything on Netflix, like she did last year. But of course she had to do something this year because she's back.

Dani sighed and sat up "Liv I told you I don't wanna do anything, I wanna stay home."

"Too bad now get up you big baby. We have a present waiting for you!" Olivia said before standing up and walking out. Dani turned to Weenie. Weenie turned his head in confusion and she groaned and flopped back down.

Dani stared in the mirror as she did her makeup. She had to re-do it. She's re-did it 5 times already. She kept telling herself it looked fine but when she double checked she always saw something wrong. Maybe it wasn't the makeup. Maybe it was her. Maybe she was the problem. She groaned and put her head into her arms that were on the counter (she was sitting down)

"Some.one.please.run.me.over." She said, after each period she banged her head into her arms. (She's fine I do it all the time.) Olivia came in and groaned.

"You've been in here for like an hour hurry up!" Olivia said as Dani lifted her head. Olivia rolled her eyes before shutting the door again and going back downstairs. Dani looked back in the mirror. She didn't like what she saw. What was wrong with her? Why was she like this?

After another excruciating hour of doing her makeup she was finally halfway happy. She still didn't like it but Olivia kept nagging her. She walked downstairs and flinched when 3 confetti canons went off, and everyone screamed "happy birthday" she looked up and saw the triplets, Sam, Colby, Olivia, Liam, Lisa, and Madi. She didn't know the triplets and Madi were gonna be here. She knew Liam and Lisa were gonna be here. And of course Sam Colby and Olivia will be there they live there.

Everyone surprised Dani by having her go to the club, they all came with of course. Colby had cheered her up on the way there, he told her nothing bad was gonna happen and if someone tried he would beat them up, of course he was joking but she was still happy that he said that.

When they got there it was packed with people. She hated large crowds, loud music, and people. She didn't even like drinking. She didn't know why they made her come here. She didn't like any of this stuff.

It had been about an hour. Olivia was drunk, so was Liam and Lisa. She didn't know where the triplets and Madi were. Sam had gone home because he wasn't feeling well. Colby was the only option left. A familiar song played "Ribs" by lorde played. Her and Colby loved this song. She decided maybe he would wanna have a birthday dance with her. She started to walk over to the bar, where he was.

Dani paused halfway there. Colby was kissing a girl. Maybe he is drunk. Or maybe she is drunk. A thousand thoughts going through her head as she stood there. She felt tears go into her eyes. She wiped them and tried to push past people as she tried to get to the club door, a person spilled their drink on her. She felt more tears falling down. She finally made it outside. She walked to her car. She didn't car that she was Olivia's and Colby's ride. She wanted to go home.

She ignored the fact that everything was blurry. She started driving which wasn't safe whatsoever. She was crying a lot. Her dress getting drenched in salty tears (me when JJ died in OBX)

Dani was grateful Sam was asleep and couldn't hear her puking in the bathroom. She wanted to get any alcohol she had out of her system. This wasn't her. She didn't go to clubs. She didn't drink. She sobbed as she felt the burning sensation in her throat. She hoped all of it came out of her system.

Weenie had come and sat by her side. Almost comforting her. She leaned against the bathroom wall. She took off her heals and threw them into her bedroom. (The bathroom is connected to her bedroom)

She sighed and looked down at Weenie. He was always there. Why couldn't humans be more like Weenie? She felt more tears start to fall. Why was she crying again? Why was she upset Colby was kissing another girl?

Then Dani realized.

Dani is in love with Colby.
