It was a sunny day, almost as if the weather was mocking the occasion. Phil stood next to his and Dan's family, watching as Dan's body was lowered into the cold, dark earth. Phil noticed that neither of Dan's parents were there, only grandparents, aunties and uncles. It made him sad. People did speeches, telling stories of Dan and saying how it was a pleasure to know him. Phil's speech came last.

"Well, I don't know what I can say that these people haven't already. Dan was an exceptionally amazing person. Always smiling, always joking, always happy. Dan was more than my best friend, he was like a brother, my other half. He could always make me smile and was always there for me to talk to. I found something in his room that he had wrote, it said it was to be read at his funeral. It reads;

'To whoever it may concern,

If you are reading this or listening to this, it means that I am no longer with you. I do not want any one of you to be sad, I don't want any tears. I am happy now, trust me on that one. There is only one person I would like to serenade, and that is Phil Lester. Phil, you kept me strong for so many years, but depression had its icy grip around me and I couldn't fight it, I'm sorry my friend. Thank you for so many memories, thank you for being you. I love you, my little lion man.

To everyone else, I love you all too, but not as much as Phil, that little lion clawed out my heart and kept it.                                       DanielHowell <3

Phil looked up from the paper that Dan had wrote on and wiped his eyes.

"Thank you." He said, and sat back down next to his parents who hugged him tightly as he sobbed into their shoulder.

Phil couldn't stay after the service, it was just too hard. He bid his parents fair well and got a taxi back to the apartment. It was so quiet and empty. He felt completely alone. Dan said that Phil had stole his heart, but it was the other way around. Phil felt like there was a gaping hole in his heart, and that he would eventually just fade away. He stumbled to his room, blinded by tears, and collapsed onto his bed.
