Chapter 5

I told him the place I want to go. It was the cabin resort from San Miguel Bulacan. I just saw it online so I wondered if it is really beautiful from the picture. It is a one-hour drive from Manila. It is a bit far but I think it is worth it.

Grayson and I are just talking about any topic we might think of. We decided to order through the drive thru and park at the fast food restaurant to eat in the car.

Maganda kausap si Grayson. He never ran out of things to say. We are asking about each other's personal life to get to know each other better. Nagkwekwentuhan din kami about my med school and his work as an engineer.

"So wala ka pang naiisip na specialization as of now?" he asked me that again.

"I have one in my mind but iniisip ko pa talaga kung anong gusto ko. Habang patagal ako nang patagal sa med school, mas lalo akong nalilito." I answered. "Pediatrics."

I am still  unsure with my specialization. The longer I spent in med school, the more fields of medicine I was learning about.  E lahat sila ay good for me, I think that's why hindi ko pa alam.

"Why?" he asked.

"I like kids."

It's just a simple answer. Sabi nila mahirap ang pediatrics kasi hindi same ang anatomy ng adult at bata. Pero kapag nakakakita ako ng mga bata. Gumagaan ang pakiramdam ko. I don't know why. I just liked them.

After eating, he drove again.

When we got there. My mouth formed an "o" as I saw the scenery. The colors around me were green, blue, brown and white. The resort was so serene that offers a quiet environment when you can relax away from the city.

Basta maganda.

"It's so peaceful here." puri niya.

"Told yah! Magaling talaga akong pumili ng place." I grinned.

"The place is so beautiful and the person next to me is beautiful too! Stand there, let me capture your beauty in this place."

Naglabas siya ng isang DLSR camera. He's telling me what to pose and I just followed it. He's complementing me while taking a picture. Minsan ay natatawa nalang ako sa pinagsasasabi niya! He's acting like a real camera man, rolling around in the grass to get a perfect shot.

"Give me the camera! Ako naman ang magpipicture sayo!" I shouted at him.

He handed me the DLSR so I took a picture of him. He knew how to post! He is so photogenic! We also took a picture together with the scenery in the background.

We went fishing because there's a lake pero wala naman kaming nahuling isda! Maybe we're not for fishing!

"Kanina pa tayo dito! Wala namang kumakagat sa pain natin!" reklamo ko.

"Ay five minutes palang talaga tayong nakatayo dito beh!" he rolled my eyes at me kaya natawa ako.

"Mas magaling ka pang umirap sa akin!"

He flipped his hair. "Duh! Mas magagandahan na talaga kita nyan!"

Naglaro rin kami ng archery pero hindi ko naman matamaan ang target! We also rode a bike to explore the resort. There's a lake and a lot of pools and cabins.

Mas maganda libutin ito nang naka-bike dahil malaki-laki rin siya at mainit kapag nilalakad mo lang. Buti nalang at marunong kaming mag-bike parehas!

"It's getting late na, do you want to go home na?" he asked me.

We are sitting to the grass while watching the sunset. Oh, how beautiful the nature is.

"Do you?" I asked him back.

"Ako ang unang nagtanong no." 

"Hmm..." nag-isip ako.

Wala naman akong gagawin bukas dahil sa hapon pa ang klase ko. I already finished my readings before ako makipag-meet sa kanya. So it is okay naman na magpagabi na dito.

"We can stay here if okay lang naman sayo. We can rent a cabin." I suggested.

He nodded. "Okay, wait here."

I frowned as he stood up. I watched him walk away, feeling a little confused. It took fifteen minutes before he came back, holding a guitar and some food. 

"Saan ka galing?" I asked.

"I already booked our cabin. Two cabins ang binook ko kasi alam kong hindi ka pa komportable matulog kasama ako. I mean, it's our first date." he answered. "So, shall we? Hahatid kita sa cabin mo."

"Hala! Magkano ba? Babayaran ko nalang sayo! Ako nag-aya sayo tapos ikaw magbabayad!" I said in a panic. "Hala! Tapos may pasok ka nga pala bukas right?! Ngayon ko lang naalala! Umuwi nalang pala tayo!"

He calmed me down. "Relax, Anelie. I have a fifteen day leave so buong isang taon kaya ginamit ko yon para hindi pumasok bukas. And yung bayad sa cabin, no need. It's on me."

"Anong it's on you?! Ikaw na nga may sagot ng transpo natin, ikaw pa nagdrive! Tapos binayaran mo pa yung drive thru natin pati entrance fee natin dito! Mahal na rin ang cabins! Fifty fifty tayo dapat!" I complained.

"No need na nga." malumanay niyang sabi. "I want to pay for it."

"Grayson!" I said, slightly frustrated.

Mahina siyang tumawa. "Let's go."

It was already evening when he went to my cabin and we created a bon fire. May mga dala siyang marshmallow at iba pang food. He even sang for me!

Sa tuwina'y naaalala ka

Sa pangarap, laging kasama ka

Ikaw ang alaala sa 'king pag-iisa

Wala nang iibigin pang iba

"Bakit mo naman ako ginagastusan e kakakilala palang naman natin?" I suddenly asked.

I am holding a stick of marshmallow. Pinapainit ko ito sa bonfire na ginawa namin.

"I'm invested in this relationship. I will do everything just to have you." he said directly.

"Ngi. Paano kung pinaglalaruan lang pala kita? Like nagpapakita ako ng motibo sayo pero in the end, hindi naman pala kita gusto?"

"It's your decision if you will gonna do it or not. Wala akong magagawa kung ganon ang ginawa mo. But at least, I still grab the chance to have you. And I will not waste those chances para ligawan ka."

I gulped at what he said. Ligawan?

I mean, this is our first meet and almost three months palang naman kami magka-usap tapos ligawan stage na agad kami? He's so fast!

"Huh? Ligawan? Hindi ba masyadong mabilis? I mean, sa chat lang naman kasi tayo nag-uusap diba?"

"There's something about you I can't figure out. The way you talk to me in chats and our video calls. Basta! I can't explain it."

Napasinghap ako sa sinabi niya.

This is the first time na merong aamin sa aking lalaki. I don't know what to feel. Parang namamanhid ang buong katawan ko or may kumikiliti sa tyan ko. Ewan ko ba! Basta ngayon ko lang naramdaman 'to.

"I'm sorry if nabibilisan ka. But I just want to say that I like you, Anelie."
