Satine and Castiel went outside to the back of the mansion. They went through a gate and arrived at a garden.

The garden was colorful, yet soft. It had many flowers Satine didn’t recognize, as well as her old favorites. The air was fresh and sweet.

“So, Satine, I hear that you will be staying here for a few months. How do you know Dr. Furns?”

Satine felt compelled to tell Castiel everything. After all, he was a worker for Dr. Furns. He was also fucking sexy.

Satine sat on a bench in the middle of the garden and told Castiel her story, starting from her parents’ deaths to her fight with Dr. Furns.

“…And I just wanted to blow off some steam by exploring.” Satine finished.

“Satine, I am so sorry. I know we just met, but I feel like I know you. I am an orphan too.”

“How did you end up here, Castiel?”

“Dr. Furns is my cousin.” Castiel smiled. “He’s a good guy when you get to know him.”

“I bet.” Satine smiled. She’d never been in love, but Castiel was tempting her to take a risk at the unknown with him. Satine would gladly do so.

It was 6:30 P.M. when Satine finally left the garden to go see Dr. Furns. Castiel had stayed behind to water the flowers. She wished she could stay and help him, but she needed to sort this out between the two of them before it got too late.

She got to Dr. Furns’ office and knocked. “Come in!” A voice sang out.

“Dr. Furns, I just wanted to apologize. I had no reason to act like that.”

“Satine, what you did was perfectly normal. You were grieving, and I said something that upset you. You were close to your aunt and were defending her memory. However, she really was depressed. You must understand that.

“Your aunt was not only depressed; she was also suffering from severe hallucinations. I never got to complete my diagnosis, but it appeared that your aunt had schizophrenia. Do you know what that means?”

Satine was filled with dread. “Do I have it too?
