Jungkook could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he sat in front of the camera, his phone propped up on a stack of books. He wasn’t used to feeling this nervous, but today was different. Today, he was about to do something he had never done before—something that had the potential to change everything.
Jimin sat beside him, his hand resting lightly on Jungkook’s knee, a quiet reassurance that he wasn’t alone in this. They had spent the morning drafting what Jungkook was going to say, making sure it was honest but firm. No room for doubts, no room for misunderstandings.
“You ready?” Jimin asked softly, his thumb brushing a soothing circle on Jungkook’s leg.
Jungkook nodded, exhaling slowly to steady his nerves. “Yeah. Let’s do this.”
He hit the record button and took a deep breath.
“Hey everyone,” he began, his voice steady but tinged with a hint of nervousness. “I know there’s been a lot of talk about me lately, especially with the post that’s been circulating on the campus forum. I’ve been thinking about how to address it, and I realized the best way is to just be honest.”
He glanced at Jimin, who gave him an encouraging nod. Jungkook continued, his eyes fixed on the camera. “I won’t pretend that everything in that post is a lie. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve hurt people in the past, and for that, I’m truly sorry. I’ve ghosted people, led them on, and I wasn’t always clear about my intentions. I was immature and didn’t think about how my actions affected others.”
He paused, taking a breath to steady himself. “But I’m not that person anymore. I’ve grown, and I’m trying to be better. And a big part of that is because of this person right here.”
He turned to Jimin, who smiled softly at him. Jungkook’s heart swelled with affection. “Jimin has shown me what it means to be honest and genuine, and I’m not ashamed to say that we’re together. Yes, we’re dating. And I don’t want to hide that anymore.”
Jimin’s hand tightened on his knee, a silent show of support.
“I know some people might have opinions about this, and that’s fine. You’re entitled to them. But I’m not going to let my past mistakes define who I am now or ruin something that means so much to me,” Jungkook said, his voice gaining strength with every word. “So, if you want to judge me, judge me for who I am today, not who I was before.”
He took one last deep breath and looked directly into the camera. “Thank you for listening, and for those of you who’ve been supportive, it means more than you know.”
With that, he hit the stop button and let out a shaky breath, his body slumping back against the chair. “God, I hope that was okay.”
Jimin squeezed his knee reassuringly. “It was perfect, Jungkook. You were honest, and that’s what matters.”
Jungkook nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over him. “Now we just wait and see how everyone reacts.”

**Jimin’s POV**
The video was posted later that afternoon, and it didn’t take long for the responses to start rolling in. Jimin and Jungkook watched from Jimin’s dorm, their phones buzzing constantly with notifications. Some comments were supportive, others were skeptical, and a few were outright harsh. But Jimin noticed that a surprising number of people were willing to give Jungkook a chance to prove himself.
“Looks like it’s going better than we thought,” Jimin said, scrolling through the comments. “I mean, there’s always going to be some hate, but a lot of people seem to respect that you came clean.”
