Chapter 7
It was Taehyung's day off, well, only for the maid job because he had to do an interview session for the main job he'd been wanting. He was wearing a formal suit to make sure he would look representable.
“Eomma, I'll get going now,” he told his mother after wearing the gray and black stripes of his blazer that matched his trousers.
“Have you eaten anything yet?” Minsoo, his mother asked him while standing outside of his room.
“Don't worry, Eomma, I've already eaten.” Taehyung responded. “where's Appa? I haven't seen him yet.” He mumbled, noticing that his father hadn't gone home yet.
“Oh, your father is going to meet a business owner who wants to invest in his small business,” Minsoo told him with a smile on her face.
“Is that true?” Taehyung couldn't hide his happiness.
His father has been working all hard. Since they experienced a devastating loss to their company, it became difficult for his parents to find investors who would be interested in their small business. He was glad that his parents still tried their best to at least regain the success of their loss. It might have left such a huge impact on their lives, but that does not mean they would give up.
“I'm happy for him; I hope everything will be fine,” Taehyung emotionally said.
“Don't worry, dear; I'm sure your father will handle the transaction very well.” Minsoo giggled. “Oh, weren't you supposed to take leave now?” she reminded him.
“Uh, that's right, I'll be back in the afternoon. Tell Appa I wish him all the best,” Taehyung said while taking his bag with him. “See you later,” he then left the house since the cab was waiting for him.
He went inside the cab, and the driver started to drive away. Once he arrived at the destination, he thanked the driver after getting out of the car and went inside the company. The company was larger than he expected; the inside was massive. He was lined up with the other employees who passed the first stage, and now they were waiting for their names to be called while sitting on the waiting bench just outside of the office where the interview was happening.
“Are you nervous?” someone asked him in a hushed tone.
He was startled when someone spoke to him. He looked beside him, where he saw the person who seemed to be kind and also good-looking.
“Well, yeah?” Taehyung was unsure what to say. “It's my first time passing the first stage of applying, and to my surprise, it came from a big company, which was really nerve-wracking,” he responded.
“I see, it's your first time. Here, I thought you were nervous because the CEO of this company was believed to be a strict and picky one. That's why it was difficult to be hired in this company,” the man whispered to him.
“Oh, I didn't know about that...” Taehyung muttered.
“Well, you would usually hear that from a big company, but this one was proven already by a lot of people who applied here, and they said it could be even more difficult because the wife of the CEO would also decide to pick based on their appearance,” he added.
Taehyung happened to know someone just like that.
“Applicant no.10, please come in,”
“It's my turn, I hope you pass,” the man he was talking to stood up and went inside the office.
Taehyung just smiled awkwardly and waited for his turn. Once the man was done, Taehyung went inside after that.
“Oh, Taehyung-ssi, it's nice to see you here,”
Taehyung was surprised to see it was Mr. Geonwoo, Jungkook's father.
“It's nice to meet you too again, Sir,” he respectfully bowed his head.
“It's surprising to see you apply here, aren't you busy?” Geonwoo asked. “have a seat first,” he then gestured to Taehyung to take a seat.
Taehyung obeyed and sat down on the chair in front of Geonwoo's desk.
“It's my day off as a maid, Sir, and it was just my part-time job. I was actually aiming to have a full-time job,” Taehyung explained to him.
“You're such a good kid,” Geonwoo giggled. “Anyways, let me see your resumé,” he uttered.
Taehyung gave his resumé and Geonwoo read the details in it.
“I see, you actually excelled in everything we needed for the employee,” Taehyung was glad to hear that. “but you see, I think you'll fit better if you work in this position instead,” Geonwoo gave a piece of paper to Taehyung.
Taehyung was confused but still read it.
“A secretary?” he looked at Geonwoo with confusion written on his face. “but I didn't apply here, Sir, and I don't think I'll be qualified to be in this position,” Taehyung uttered.
“Don't worry, don't worry, you still excelled for that position. And I believe that position will fit you better because the person you'll assist needs someone who can understand him and they will pay you better than the position you're aiming for.” Geonwoo stated.
“Is this position even available?” Taehyung inquired.
“Yes, it is,” Geonwoo grinned. “why don't you go there? His company was not that far from here. Don't worry, my company was a parent company and his company was the sister of my company. Just mention my name and he will understand you,” he smiled softly.
“Oh, okay, thank you,” Taehyung stood up and bowed his head once again but there was still confusion lingering in his face.
“Ms. Seo, please assist him to NexJung Co.” Geonwoo called his secretary who was just sitting there on the corner.
“I understand, Mr. Geon,” Ms. Seo also bowed her head and glanced at Taehyung. “please follow me,” she motioned for Taehyung to follow her, and Taehyung did.
Taehyung was anxious and confused while going inside the NexJung company. He had heard of the company before, and he believed that NexJung was almost outperforming the Nexis company. But he couldn't believe they were just related to each other.
“Ms. Seo, are you here to set a meeting?” a beautiful lady asked him when they arrived at the top floor of the 16th-floor building.
There was only one room on the entire floor, which Taehyung believed was the office of the CEO.
“No, Mrs. Ahn, but Mr. Geon told me to deliver him here,” she moved aside to show Taehyung who was behind her.
“I see, then you can go inside, Mr. Jeon was there,” Mrs. Ahn smiled at them
Mr. Jeon? That caught Taehyung's attention. He was about to ask Ms. Seo about it, but she had already knocked on the door, and a familiar voice was heard. Ms. Seo let Taehyung inside and Taehyung stood there awkwardly while looking at Jungkook.
“Hyung?” Jungkook was also confused.
Meanwhile back in Geonwoo's office.
“Those two will be a perfect couple,” he chuckled.
He was just being a bridge for both of them.
