Stay With Me [Vernon]

Ch-07.

At Business Major Building -

Harin was looking for Vernon. She was already nervous of what he wanted to talk but she was also scared as everyone was taller than her and some too staring at her creepily. The corridor was crowded. The classes ended, students were coming out of clases. She was getting dragged away in crowd as they couldn't see her small figure.

Suddenly someone held her hand, her breath hitched, she got scared who it might be. That person took her out of the crowd towards locker room. He had a cap and all black jacket. She wanted to yell but couldn't as she was terrified and started crying. That person locked the door.

"L-leave mee.. or I-I will yell" she tried to confront him but it came out like a soft request. She saw the man lifting his hand she closed her eyes tight, tears staining her cheeks.

" Shh.. it's me Harin" she opened her eyes recognising the voice. There stood vernon infront of her, looking concern. As she saw him she started crying more loudly hitting her small fists on his chest. Vernon got shocked. He didn't mean to scare her.

(Lol it's him again.)

" I-I am sorry Harin. You got scared?" Asked Vernon nonchalantly.

"Y-you are very bad! You always scare me.. what you even want to talk with me? Asked Harin her eyes getting red from crying.
Vernon came close to her, she backed away but the lockers stopped her. He wiped her tears. She flinched a bit but gave him access. His hand stayed on her cheek caressing it.
She looked up at him. His eyes showing with guilt.

" I am sorry. Please forgive me.."
Said Vernon in soft voice. She calmed down.

"On one condition." Said Harin.

" What is it? I'll do it." Said Vernon.

" I-I'll miss my bus because I am here. Can you drop me to my home?" She asked unsure.

" Ofcourse I will" said Vernon to which Harin jumped happily. Holding his hand tightly which was still caressing her cheek.

" Thank you Hansolie" she said giggling. For some reason Vernon's heart skipped a beat. But composed his expression.

" Is Sofia not with you?" Asked Vernon.

" She said your Mom called her she needed her so, she went to her house." Said Harin to which Vernon nodded.

"Tell me what you want to talk?" She asked, but he was just staring at her. She waved her hand infront of his face then he came back to reality.

"Uhm.. yesterday when you got injured because that girl bumped into you... Do you remember her face?" Asked Vernon while Harin looked shocked.

"H-How did you know?"

" Sofia told me. But the thing is that yesterday when I left from the cafeteria a girl bumped to me too. So, I want to confirm if they are same. Don't tell anyone about this. " explained Vernon.

" Okay. You think the girl who bumped with me is the same girl that you met after leaving cafeteria?" asked Harin squinting her brows in confusion.

" I am not sure. She asked me, If I am Chwe Hansol next owner of Chwe market holdings. That's our company." Said Vernon.

" You think she might be a thief?" Asked Harin innocently. Her round eyes sparkling as she cried a minute ago.

"No but maybe a spy of our rivals" he said.

" But why she ran to me.. I got hurt by her " she said huffing in anger.

" That's what I want to know, if the both girls are the same or not" he said.

" And how will you find out it?" Asked Harin whispering like they are planning some secret mission.

"You remember her face right? She bumped to you infront of drama club so we'll check every student there and find her." Vernon explained his plan.

Harin looked unsure.

" You don't have to worry. I'll come to get you from your class. Uhm.. in third lecture? yes! It's analytics that's boring. Okay? You be ready." He said.

"B-but I have English grammar class. I'm weak in it. I have to attend." She said looking down nervous.

" English? That's easy for me I'll teach you that. okay? Just come out saying you're going to washroom I'll be just out of your class." Said Vernon.

" But I never bunk.." she said in small voice.

"Me too. But we are not wasting time. We are doing this to stop someone who might planning to harm our company. Nothing is wrong and I will help you. It's the first time. don't worry." He said reassuring her.
' when did I started talking this much?' he thought.

"Okay" she said softly.

Suddenly someone banged on the door loudly. Harin flinched and clutched Vernon's jacket. It was banging continuously as someone yelled.

"Who's in there!? Come out!"
Harin whimpered getting scared of loud thud.

"Shh.. calm down. If we don't make noise he'll go away" said Vernon and stood beside her.
The man outside was a cleaner. He again banged on the door and shouted. Harin quickly hugged Vernon's arm tightly.

"D-don't, D-don't" her voice cracking.

" It's okay.. you are fine.. here-"
He held her face gently, then placed his headphones on her ears and played some jazz music. Harin closed her eyes still hugging his arm as her life depends on it. While Vernon just stared at her.

' why she always get scared of loud noise? Is it a past trauma?'

Vernon waited till the man walked away away from there. Harin looked at him as asking
'is he gone' to which Vernon nodded. He took his headphones and Harin leaves his arm. She felt the lack of warmth and comfort of him. They walked out of the locker room.

At gate they saw Mingyu. He waved at them happily. Harin walked towards him with quick steps.

" Harin! Vernon!"

"Gyu Oppa!" Harin stopped infront of him bouncing like a child.

"Aww Harin. Look Vernon is so slow " said Mingyu patting her head as she laughed looking at Vernon, who just glared at them.

"Why are you still here?" Asked Vernon.

" I was waiting for you two, I saw Harin and you." Said Mingyu raising a brow at Vernon.
Harin looked at Vernon with 'oh no' expression.

" Oh." Said Vernon.

" By the way Harin, the cookies were tasty" said Mingyu winking at Vernon, who glared at him.
Harin felt hurt. Her face turned sad.
' so he gave it to Gyu Oppa..' she thought.

"Harin.."Vernon was about to explain but got cut off by Mingyu.

" Hey! He was eating those by himself, without sharing with us. but I caught him and ate few." Said Mingyu to Harin.

"It's fine gyu oppa." Said Harin, she felt bad for misunderstanding Vernon.

"Let's go now." Said Vernon as they parted ways with Mingyu.
