Her bed was so soft beneath her, how could she not fall asleep? Brianna gasped and sat up, looking around to see she was in her bed.

‘No, no!’ She grabbed her phone and looked to see the same thing she had seen for what felt like an eternity.

‘No! Why!’ Tears ran down her face and she let out scream. Her hands gripped her hair as she rocked back and forth and cried hysterically.

‘What do you want!’

Brianna was beyond exhausted, she sat in her tub, naked and cold. The cold water distracting her from her crushing thoughts. She didn’t even flinch when she heard a knock at the door or even when the bathroom door opened and Will rushed forward. He glanced at the knife beside the tub.

‘Brianna? What’s wrong?’ He said. She began to laugh dryly, staring forward.

‘I really did care about you,’ she said. Her voice in just a whisper as she picked up the knife.

‘I suggest you put that down, Brianna,’ another voice said. She looked up to see Hannibal and laughed even more.

‘Want to do it yourself, huh?’

‘Brianna, let’s get you out of the tub,’ Will said. Brianna looked at him with dead eyes before she plunged the knife into his neck. Will’s eyes were wide with shock as blood poured from him throat.

‘Will!’ Hannibal shouted. He rushed forward and grabbed Will, putting pressure around the knife and on the wound. Brianna stood up, her name body pale and dripping with cold water.

‘Nothing matters anymore,’ she said. Hannibal looked at her. He swiftly took the knife out of Will’s neck before throwing himself forward and plunging the knife into Brianna’s stomach. With a scream she stumbled back and braced herself against the wall.

‘I don’t care how many times I have to kill you, but I will enjoy it every time,’ she said. The disdain was evident in her voice and eyes, she stepped forward, clutching the wound in her stomach. Hannibal probably could’ve easily killed her, but he was too distracted trying to keep Will alive. Brianna stood above them, glaring at Will who lay dying.

‘I suppose I underestimated you, my dear,’ he said. Hate filled her eyes. She took the knife out of her stomach with a scream.

‘Go ahead, my dear,’ he taunted.

‘I won’t give you the mercy of death. I will give you a true punishment, a life in prison knowing the one person in life who made you feel something is dead,’ she said. Her voice monotone and holding no emotion. Hannibal looked up into her dangerous eyes. He looked back down at Will, knowing there was no way to save him. Tears rolled down his cheeks and Brianna chuckled.

‘I never got a single tear,’ she said. With as much force she could muster she kicked Hannibal’s head against the wall, knocking him unconscious. As much as she wanted to beat him dead right there, she wanted to hang onto to the hope that this was the last time she would relive the day. She truly wanted Hannibal to suffer for as long as possible. Clutching her stomach she slowly made her way downstairs and outside, slowly falling to her knees. A neighbour rushed to her side but she didn’t hear a single thing they said. The only thing she felt was warmth and her eyes closing.

Rest, pure relaxing rest.

Warm blankets in her body as her body fully relaxed.

The blankets were so soft, so warm, so…

She shot up in her bed, knowing that feeling. She was about to scream in frustration before glancing around to see she wasn’t in her room any longer. It was a hospital room. A nurse walked in and she shouted, ‘what date is it!’

The nurse looked at her in shock.

‘It’s the eighth, ma’am,’ she said. Brianna looked at her in shock as tears welled in her eyes. She did it. The day after the date she had woken up to see for the past eternity.

‘I did it,’ she said. Tears ran down her face, the nurse moved forward and checked her vitals.

‘The police will be in soon to interview you, I suggest you rest until then,’ she said. Brianna nodded and leant back against the bed, still letting her tears flow freely. Time passed and her tears dried. She spent the next few hours staring out the window. Eventually she had spoken to Jack, telling him every detail she could…apart from the part of her having her own ground hog day movie. He informed her that Will had indeed died from his injuries, she would need to go to court but Jack was certain it would be ruled as self defence considering all the evidence they had against both Will and Hannibal. If Brianna was honest she didn’t care if she went to prison or not. She had experienced a prison no one else ever had. The only thing that mattered was that the man who betrayed her was dead and the man she despised was locked away forever.
