The classroom was dead silent- like, you could literally hear a pin drop. Just the sound of pencils scratching on paper and the occasional groan from people already giving up on the quiz.

Back to school, back to this endless rivalry we've got going.

I bit my lower lip as I waited for the next question the teacher will throw on us. Not to brag but this quiz is so damn easy. Not like I expected it to be other way around.

I studied, of course it will be easy for me. So please, stop reading and do what you have to do first. I know you're too invested in my Goddamn life but trust me--- it can wait. Nandito lang kami. We're not going anywhere.

After we passed our papers, we went through the usual exchange. I small smile crept into my lips when I saw who's paper was given to me. If this isn't fate doing his work, then I don't know what to tell you.

I noticed Kyan standing a few desks away, his eyes scanning my quiz like it was some kind of puzzle. I couldn't help but smirk; I know he was observing every small details of my paper, and it was oddly amusing.

Of course. Of course I know he's the one checking my paperl! That became an inside joke here, lagi nilang binibigay ang paper ko to Kyan just because they find our little bickering too... intriguing!

When he finally made his way over, he handed me my paper with that teasing smile he always has. "Here's your masterpiece, Art. Sana hindi ka masyadong nagkamali," he said, clearly being sarcastic.

I raised an eyebrow as I took my paper from him. "Says the guy who missed a capital letter or two," I shot back.

Kyan grinned and leaned in, lowering his voice like he was about to share a big secret. "Sige, let's see what we have here..." He flipped my paper over and started checking my answers.

As he went through my work, he paused at a couple of my answers. "Seryoso? You left this sentence without a period? Come on, Art..." he said, shaking his head, clearly amused.

"Huh! The audacity you have to say that is insane. You skip many commas and your punctuation- fuck, ang gulo!"

He chuckled,"Well, at least we're consistent, diba?" he said, a spark in his eyes.

"Consistent my ass. You're just finding a way to connect the two of us."

He raised his one brow teasingly, "Tingin sa ass-"

"The hell!"

"Artist and Kyan, back to your seats. You can continue bickering after the midterm." Our teacher's voice boomed across the room, cutting through the tension. With no other choice, we begrudgingly returned to our seats, both of us clearly annoyed by the disruption. "By the way, Im not sure if your advisor has already informed you, but there will be no class this afternoon. Use the free time to study."

Ugh right. Malapit na ang midterm. Another sleepless nights again. Good thing there's no class this afternoon though. I'd probably just spend that time sleeping, then procrastinate in the evening. I only procrastinate cause it'll end up working anyway.

I shot Kyan a competitive sharp look and he reflected it. Sit the fuck down. I'd win.

"No offense, pero yung acting skills ng male lead bro, parang galing sa community theater. I mean, sobrang wooden ng delivery niya, almost impressive kung gaano siya ka-unconvincing! Honestly, parang kaya pa ngang lampasan ng lola ko 'yung mga acting niya. Di ko talagakayang seryosohin 'yung storyline kapag nandyan 'yan siya sa screen."
