Sun-cream, check. T-shirt check. I mentally ticked off items, making sure I hadn't forgot anything. As I was stuffing my savings into a hidden slit in my fluorescent suitcase, my mother burst through the door. startled, I flung around, to face her standing preening herself by my door. "Mother," I called nervously, as I played casually with a strand of hair. "Just wanted to see you off," She replied, satisfying my question, why the hell was she in my room?!
"Oh, how lovely," I replied my fake accent wavering, as I tried to hide the fake happiness from my voice. "Yes, well you are going to be without me for 3 weeks, and I didn't want to deprive you of my face," She commented, staring over my large room. My mum had hired a designer to decorate my bedroom a few years back. There was a large king sized bed which lay in the middle of my room, draped with real tiger, and zebra comforters. Every day, I unwillingly lay in bed with these draped over me, which is why I am secretly a vegetarian. If my mum found out about this, she would force a whole cow in my mouth.
"How thoughtful," I replied, stepping around my bed to attempt to hug her. she dodged gracefully adjusting the sunglasses resting on her nose. "We know the rules about touching me," She sternly warned. "Yes, sorry mother I forgot," I replied, my voice laced with sarcasm. Thankfully not picked up by mother. "Well bye, you may have a small amount of fun, but make sure you learn!" She called as she left the room the door slamming behind her.
I rolled my eyes typical mother. I pulled the metal zip along sealing closed my suitcase, as I clutched onto it, bringing it down the winding stairs. just breathe, well its sort of hard when your own clothes are trying to suffocate you. If it was up to me I would trek to the airport in sweatpants, and a hoodie. Sadly, my mother was still here so, that meant wearing an extremely tight dress, a full face of make-up, and high heels, sooo comfortable. (note the sarcasm.)
Martin was waiting at the foot of the stairs to take my bag. "I hope you have a wonderful time, Miss.pierce," Martin said his eyes wavering over to my parents, as I nodded in realisation."Thank you Martin," I replied, as I walked over to my parents. "Goodbye Father and Mother, I hope you have a wonderful time on your holiday," I wished my parents, as my father enveloped me in a short hug. "Oh, we will," Mother replied throwing a scarf around her shoulder and strutting of to be followed by father who was waving at me, as the car drove off to our private jet.
WOOOO!! Freedom! As soon as they were out of view, I ran over to Martin, who grabbed me into a long hug. "Ignore what your mother said, screw learning. have a wonderful time! I will miss you," Martin said, as he released me leading me to the car. "I will, and I'll miss you too," I replied ditching the British accent, and smoothing my dress as I buckled my seat belt. Martin placed my suitcase in the boot and waved to me as the limo began moving, I waved until he was out of sight. I sat back breathing deeply. My journey starts now.

I stepped out the limo, as the chauffeur handed me my suitcase. I mumbled thank-you as I stood in awe at the airport in front of me. I probably looked like a weirdo, but I had only ever been to an airport once and I was way to young to remember that.
I walked through the automatic door, and stood watching people rushing around to get to their gate, and walking through security gates. Realising that I didn't want to miss my plane, I clasped my suitcase and took a deep breathe, walking through a crowd of passengers. "Hi," I greeted the secretary, "Hi, how can I help you?" She replied tapping her Bluetooth and flashing a smile. "Um, well I was wondering if you could tell me where to go?" I questioned handing her my ticket. "Passport," She ordered a smile still plastered on her face."First time travelling alone?" She asked while flicking through my passport. "Yes," I replied embarrassed. "Don't worry about it." She reassured whilst handing back my passport and ticket and pointing in the direction off the security gates. "Thank-you," I replied smiling and walking over to the security gate.
"Hi," I said cheerily handing my suitcase to be taken through the machine. "I ain't got no time for pleasantries, sweetie, so move along," the man said taking my suitcase. Ok so not everyone is nice. I shrugged of my jacket and walked through the gate. BEEP BEEP. Wait, was that for me??? OMG. OMG. I could feel my heart pounding out of my chest, until I looked to the left where a man was being checked. phew , I breathed a sigh of relief and grabbed my suitcase, rushing to the seating area.
Finally now I can change out of these uncomfortable clothes. I dragged my suitcase and rushed into a cubicle, taking off my heeled shoes and replacing them with comfortable converse. I pulled off my tight dress and dressed myself in tracksuits and a hoodie. this was the comfiest I had ever been in my life.
I walked out of the toilets and immediately bumped into someone. great going kath. "Sorry," I mumbled rushing past them, not even looking up. Phew, I walked down the corridors, and boarded the plane, quickly touching the side of the plane, for luck. please don't let me die, I silently pleaded. "
Welcome," The air-stewardess greeted standing perfectly flawless, as I flashed her a nervous smile and rushed to my seat, breathe Kath, your not gunna die. I took deep breathes, and started sorting out my entertainment. "Ladies and Gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelt as we board to the flight to...." I plugged my earphones in drowning out the captain, I needed pure silence. I felt my eyes drooping as the relaxing music vibrated through my body.
