Author's POV

Reyansh sat in his office, eyes unfocused as he skimmed over yet another email he couldn't bring himself to care about. His mind was elsewhere, anchored to the message he'd sent Aathiya days ago—words he'd spent hours writing, rewriting, and agonizing over. Since then, he hadn't heard a single word from her. The silence gnawed at him, bringing a tension he couldn't shake off.

As he sighed and leaned back in his chair, his phone buzzed, pulling him out of his thoughts. His heart leapt with hope when he saw her name flash across the screen. A message from Munji ghull.

He took a deep breath before opening it, bracing himself for whatever response she had chosen to send.

"Reyansh... I need time."

Just three words. Simple, yet loaded with the weight of her hesitation. A wave of mixed emotions washed over him—relief, disappointment, and a glimmer of hope all tangled together. She hadn't shut him out, hadn't rejected him outright. But she wasn't ready to embrace what he felt, either.

He stared at the message, fingers hovering over the keyboard, unsure of what to say. A part of him wanted to reassure her, to promise again that he would wait as long as she needed. But another part of him recognized the silence behind her words, the caution in her tone. She was processing, grappling with her own fears and insecurities.

After a few long moments, he finally typed out a reply, keeping it short and sincere.

"Take all the time you need, Aathiya Ji. I''ll wait for you, no matter what."

He hit send and placed his phone down, trying to steady the rhythm of his heartbeat. He knew that loving her might mean holding back, giving her space to heal on her terms, no matter how much he wanted to be by her side right now.

Reyansh closed his eyes, letting a bittersweet smile creep onto his face. In the vast expanse of his usually controlled world, this waiting felt like the hardest thing he'd ever done. But for her, he'd endure it. For her, he'd wait forever.

On the other side, Aathiya's eyes stayed glued to her phone, every nerve in her body on edge. She'd sent her message with so much hesitation, unsure of what response it would invite. When the notification finally popped up, she opened it with trembling hands, her heart skipping a beat.

As she read those words, a soft, genuine smile broke through her anxious expression, a gentle warmth filling her chest. For a moment, all her fears seemed to quiet down, replaced by the reassurance his message brought. The ache of self-doubt and the weight of uncertainty felt lighter. His patience, his willingness to wait, reminded her of his unwavering support—a silent promise that he would be there whenever she was ready.

That brief smile lingered for just a second before her worries returned, but the comfort stayed with her. His message wasn't just words; it was a gentle reminder that she wasn't alone in her journey, that he was there, waiting, willing to move at her pace.

Adarsh descended the grand staircase, straightening his shirt, when he paused mid-step, spotting his mother looking exceptionally radiant, dressed in a beautiful saree, her hair elegantly styled, with a hint of makeup that softened her graceful features.
