After a while of watching the city line and drowning herself in alcohol, Vienna decided that it was a good idea to get up and go back to her apartment. As she pushed herself off the now warmish concrete, she heard the door to the roof swing open and fast footsteps following afterward.
"Vienna.." She recognized the voice instantly and decided to stumble to the door, ignoring their presence entirely. Before she got to the door she felt a hand wrap gently around her wrist and pulled her towards them, causing her to spin around, facing them. She turned her head to face away from the boy in front of her, her eyes focusing on the picturesque cityscape. The intoxicated girl felt another hand slowly creeping up to her chin, causing her to tense, the hand grabbed her chin and cautiously moved her head, forcing her to look and the boy with messy brown curls, pointing in all directions, his face stern, showing no emotion except his glossy, tear-filled eyes. Vienna watched his eyes look down to her neck, widening when he saw the bruises left by her brother.
"What happened?" Lando asked softly looking into the girls' tired, deep brown eyes. The girl quickly looked away and started to attempt to squirm out of his grip but failed as Lando gripped tighter. The girl's eyes quickly filled with tears as she knew she couldn't escape his grip easily. The taller boy pulled her into him, wrapping his arms around her and softly running his finger through her hair while the girl sobbed into his torso.
"I can't be seen with you." Vienna sobbed. Lando pulled out of the hug, resting his arms around her shoulders.
"Why? We've only just talked again." Lando asked, his eyes widening in concern. Vienna took a deep breath in, unsure if she should tell the boy in front of her the truth. The girl looked away, brainstorming drunken ideas to replace the truth but her train of thought got cut short.
"Vie, don't think about lying." The boy sighed while his senescent caused the girl to make a confused face. "You pull a face every time you think of a lie." The boy smiled. Vienna sighed now knowing she couldn't lie about what happened, tearing up at the thought of voicing what happened. She moved forward to feel the comfort of her head on Lando's chest before deciding to open up and make herself even more vulnerable than she already was.
"Vincent saw us together last night, and we had an agreement about me not seeing you again, and he got mad and... yeah." Vienna slurred, knowing Lando knew how her older brother got when he was mad or upset. Lando squeezed the girl lightly, remembering how scared of her older brother she was when they were little. A breeze of cold wind blew past the pair, causing Vienna to shiver.
"Should we go inside?" Lando said gently into the girl's forehead. The girl nodded tiredly in response. The pair pulled out of the hug they forgot they were in and walked hand in hand to Vienna's apartment. Once they got to the door of Vienna's apartment the overwhelming silence came to an end.
"Can you stay the night?" Vienna whispered, making sure the boy heard her while trying to unlock her door.
"Of course I can." Lando smiled, watching her struggle to unlock her door before stepping in to help her. Once he unlocked the door the pair walked in and Vienna went to get pillows and a blanket for the boy to sleep on her sofa. The pair quickly said their goodnights and went to sleep.
