"Katon, Fire Breath!" Kaiya formed the nessecary hand seals before putting her hands together and brought them to her mouth. She breathed through them and a wage of fire emerged through her hands.
She and Asura were on the training fields and a little while had passed since the start of Kaiya's training to become a Jounin. Asura smirked pleased as she watched the girl perform jutsus. She was making solid progress in no time and it became quickly obvious that she had an affinity for Fire, just like her father. Another similarity they shared was that the girl was a fast learner when it came to jutsus. A great body and mind that were truly capable of something great and who needed the right guidance. Asura respected Guy well as he, too, was a skilled shinobi, but found it a pity that he couldn't aid Kaiya to truly reach her potential. He was a great parental figure and supporter, but just like anyone else, he was no expert in everything. He focused a lot on the physical part of being a shinobi and while that is very important, Kaiya needed more guidance than he could offer when it came to jutsus. Too bad that Kaiya didn't end up on Kakashi"s or Kurenai's team, she thought.
As the flames grew before her, Kaiya quickly redirected them towards Asura. For someone who was just starting to learn, Asura was impressed how Kaiya was already creating her own justu styles. The fire was coming closer and closer to her and while the attack is good, it was too blunt to truly hurt her. "Water style: Raging waves!"
If one would look closely or know the science behind this jutsu, they'd know that the water was actually extracted from the ground itself and the plants. If you'd be nearby a body mass, it would be extracted from there. It was common knowledge that water couldn't come from thin air and that if you wanted to perform a water-based jutsu, you'd need pre-existing water. Some people still tend to forget that. The water mass moved around Asura and the fire and extinguished it successfully.
Asura cleaned off the sweat from her forehead; she could never stand heat; which always made summer a nightmare for her. A chill wind passed by, sending shivers down Asura's spine. As the wind blew from Asura's back and in Kaiya's direction, Kaiya smiled. She could smell the woman's sweat and even though the attack was deflected, it was still in her advantage. Water jutsus require the extraction of water and needing the amount of water that Asura used to settle down the fire used quite the amount of chakra. Obviously the woman still had it in her, but it was easier to beat her once she found an attack through which the woman would have to defend herself by using a lot of chakra. What Kaiya didn't notice as quickie was how Asura's chest moved irregulary as she tried to catch her breath. She couldn't let Kaiya see her tiredness. If her weakness was to be seen, her chances of iwnning would be doomed. Still, Asura's judgement seemed to come a step too late in this fighting.
A thick mud wall rose from the ground. Asura's eyes widened in a mixture of shock and surprise. This was a defense move, but for what? There had to be more to it. She formed a few hand seals meant for an air-style jutsu that send a few strong wind blades towards the wind. The jutsu was strong enough to destroy the wall. Once the air was cleared of the dust, Kaiya could be seen crouched and with a kunai in her hand. She made eye contact with Asura, who was even more confused as to why Kaiya's gaze was so relaxed and why she didnt even flinch around those stones falling around her. Asura made another air jutsu that send small and sharp air blows aimed towards the girl. As soon as the first air bullet touched the girl, she dissapeared in thin air.
Asura puffed. Kaiya ensured a distraction to form a quite realistic clone jutsu. Suddenly, Asura's body froze as she felt a hand touch her shoulder. She wanted to turn around and attack, but felt fear fill her body even more when she realised that she couldn't move her limbs. Her entire body, despite being able to feel it, was paralysed. As she paid more attention, she noticed very thin threads surrounding her body. Chakra threads, she realised.
"What did you do?" Asura asked, her voice coarse.
"A temporary paralysis jutsu," Kaiya explained with a smile as she walked in front of Asura.
"With chakra threads?"
"Mhm, and they also make sure to absorb your chakra in the meantime."
Asura choked on her own words as she felt her body weakening. She couldn't help but wonder about where Kaiya learned about this technique and how to form chakra threads. For one thing, she was sure as hell that she didn't even get to mention these to her. After a few moments of thought, her shock turned into a smirk. She was no stranger to chakra threads nor this jutsu and knew how she was practically at Kaiya's will in that moment. There was truly bno way to fight back in this situation, unless your shadow clone or normal clone got stuck.
"Good job, Kaiya," Asura said, "You're truly impressing me."
The paralysis would last for another ten minutes maximum and the girl was no threat. Asura knew that there was no reason to find ways to fight back or escape in that moment, not that there are a lot of options if you're in that situation.

"Hokage-sama, I'd say she's almost ready."
Tsunade frowned. "Asura, you've been training this girl for only two weeks. It would be impossible for her to make such progress in such a short time unless she's some sort of prodigy."
"Well, I don't know about prodigy and I wouldn't dare to call her that, but her skills are above average. Her stamina is absolutely excellent and she learns very quick. She even learned some jutsus that I haven't even told her about, like the temporary paralysis jutsu. It's really a matter of time until she learns enough jutsus to have a rich knowledge and be a fine jounin. Honestly, she really just needs someone to guide her and focus on her."
Silence filled the room for a few moments. Tsunade looked down at her esk for a few minutes as she fell in thought. She then looked back up and locked gazes with Asura, who looked at her, wondering.
"Asura-san, I think we can both agree that when it comes to raw strength, Kaiya is easily Jouni-level. Still, she lacks experience too hard. She is much behind her peers when it coems to the amount of missions that she completed, so I cannot just make her a jounin who has the same experience of a Genin. I need you to offer her guidance and more experience on the field, as part of her training. Once that her skills are more established and she has completed a number of missions successfully, tell me and I will make sure she's part of the next Jounin exam. Do you understand?"
"Yes, ma'am."

"No way," Kaiya said, words getting stuck in her throat as disbelief took over her, "Asura-san, are you serious?"
"I'm not a big fan of pranks, especially when it comes to speaking such things of the Hokage," Asura paused, "So it's true. I'd like to take you on a mission with me. It'll help you gain more experience."
A large smile appeared on Kaiya's face. "Oh my god, this is amazing!"
"Even if it's an A-rank mission?" The corners of Asura's mouth moved up into a smirk.
Kaiya blinked in disbelief while her mouth moved without making a sound. "A-rank? What's the mission?"
"To put it shortly, we must aid an inspection team in the Land of Lighting. Lady Hokage never really trust'ed those Lighting Land fuckers, especially when it comes to politics, and she won't risk her genin to die for nothing. That's why she requested one or two skilled jounin to watch over her team and interfere if anything happens."
Kaiya hummed in approval and in thought. "I understand. I suppose an extra pair of eyes wont hurt either. When will we leave?"
"Now."
