The next day, I went to talk to Liam and Emma before breakfast. I notice a lot of people staring at me but I guess I'll just have to get used to that now.
"Hi guys!" I wave as we all sit down by the lake. "Have you guys heard the news?" Liam asks. Me and Emma shake our heads and Liam continues. "Chiron's been saying that it might be time to accept that Percy Jackson might be gone," he whispered to us.
In that moment I felt a wave of dread wash over me. I mean, I may have never met the guy but he was still my brother and I was really looking forward to meeting him. Plus there was Annabeth, who clearly is very good friends with him, she would be devastated.
After a while we heard the breakfast bell and Emma had to run to catch up with her cabin mates, while I got to walk because there was nobody for me to catch up with. After filling my plate with eggs and bacon, Emma came over to me and told me to go scrape a little bit of my food into the fire so the gods could have it. It seemed very weird to me, they were all powerful and all mighty, couldn't they just get their own food?
After we all got settled back at our tables Chiron got up to make an announcement. "My dear campers, I'm afraid it is time to accept the fact that our dear friend, Percy Jackson did not survive," he boomed gravely. I looked over at Annabeth and saw the color in her face drain and tears begin to fall down her face. I felt so bad for her, maybe I should have told her that way she would have time to prepare herself, I wish I could go over and comfort her but it looks like her siblings are doing that for me.
After breakfast we all get ready for Percy's funeral. Emma, Liam, and I all walk together while I try to come up with a speech because Chiron asked me to say something after Annabeth.
After Annabeth gives her speech Chiron shouts, "and now Percy's sister shall say a few words!" and I step up. I clear my throat and begin, "um, hi, for those of you who don't know, I never knew Percy, but I have heard a lot about him and that tells me how amazing he really is. The fact that so many people can tell me how many amazing things he's done proves that he's done so many amazing things and now I'm sure he'll reach Elysium," everybody clapped just as they did for Annabeth.
We were having a moment of silence for Percy but then I saw somebody hiding in the bushes. I nudged Annabeth and whispered, "who's that?" She looked where I was pointing and suddenly got super excited. "PERCY!!" She screamed and ran and practically tackled the poor boy named Percy, who apparently was my brother. "I'm, hey guys," he said.
(Okay this is kinda short but whatever)
