Alina leans against the window watching out her window as kids were playing, running around and smiling.
A painful sharp feeling flows through her stomach as she sighs, turning away forcing herself to do something else.
Anything else.
Guess the library is a good place as any, she thinks as she grabs her bag. Waving to the librarian she goes to her usual secluded corner when she stops hearing mumbling and curses following.
Peeking her head around the corner she sees Oliver Wood leaning over a desk, his leg moving up and down rapidly, his face contorted into stress. Anxiety radiated all over the boy.
Running through her options.
Go about her business. Or check on the boy.
She groans as she decides to go talk to the boy.
"Fancy seeing you here" She says as the boy's head shoots up, staring at her in shock. "Surprised you aren't on the field" She comments throwing herself down on the chair across from him.
"Won't be a field if I don't pass" Trying to hide the sad look the girl sets her bag on the table standing up and moving to the chair next to him.
"What are you doing?" He says in surprise. "Helping you, what does it look like?"
"Don't you have something to do?" "No, do you want my help or not?" He nods fast, quickly pushing the paper in front of her.
"I j-just don't u-understand" His stress was evident. She pauses turning.
"First, breathe. It's ok, this is not life or death ""It might be" he grinds his teeth.
"But it's not, so just breathe" She rolls her eyes. The boy slowly calms down as he breathes in and out.
"Good" She pats his knee as she pulls out her notebook.
"Are you always prepared for a tutoring session?" He tries joking, his voice wavering slightly. "Yep, that's me" "It's just I don't understand, what does this even mean?"
After spending two hours with Oliver he finally lets out a small smile. "Get it?"
"I do, I really think I do. How do you know all this?" He asks. "Oh, just extra studies" She closes her book.
"How do you have time?" She shrugs. "Why do you need all this credit if you're insanely smart?"
"Does it matter?" She suddenly snaps, surprising the boy. "I was just curious" He shrugs making her instantly feel bad as he closes his books.
"I have to be made prefect next year" She says instead.
"Why?"
"Because"
"Because why?" Oliver pushes.
Alinas jaw clenched as she glared down at the boy. "Because I have too" She ends with a pointed look as if to tell him to drop it.
He does.
"Thank you, for your help" He says standing up and holding out a hand. She shakes it. "It's whatever, can't have you failing on me, that would look bad" a smile graces his lips as he shakes his head.
"What are you doing now?" she shrugs. "Getting to dorm, it's almost lights out"
"You could do that" He whistles, grabbing his bag and walking off. "What does that mean?" She curiously catches up to the boy.
"Up for a round of quidditch" A smirk raises on her lips.
"Oh your on Captain"
"You cheated!" She snaps as Oliver blocks her hit for the tenth time in a row.
"I'm just that good" He laughs, throwing a wink in the girls direction.
"Your a-a cheater" "Don't be so salty" He snickers as she jumps off her broom stomping away.
"Oh come on, you're really going to be a sore loser" "Yes"
"Re-round?" He asks thoroughly, enjoying this.
"No"
"Please"
"I'll see you tomorrow Mr Wood" she walks off without sparing a glance.
"See you Miss Dawson!" A wide smile lands on Oliver's face as he watches the Slytherin walk away.
