As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of deep purple and fiery orange, the teens along with Skylar and Vaelis settled into the cave for the night. The warmth of the dying light barely reached the cool, damp stone of the cave walls, creating an atmosphere that was both comforting and eerie.

Damagnus sat near the entrance, his gaze flickering between the fire and Vaelis. Though his friend had recovered from the darkness that once consumed him, the scars of betrayal were still fresh in Damagnus's mind. He wanted to trust Vaelis, to believe that the malevolence that had once tainted his heart was gone, but doubt lingered like a shadow. Yet, deep down, a part of him knew that Vaelis had never meant to cause harm, that the darkness had twisted his intentions.

Lilly, on the other hand, was filled with a renewed sense of hope. The discovery of her long-lost sister, Skylar, had filled a void in her heart. She trusted Skylar completely, seeing her as the guiding light she had been missing all her life. But the others, still wary, eyed Skylar with suspicion. Her sudden appearance and mysterious past were difficult to overlook.

As the night wore on, the fire crackled softly, casting dancing shadows on the cave walls. Midnight approached, and one by one, the group drifted off to sleep. Everyone except Amelia.

Amelia sat apart from the others, her wings folded tightly against her back. The cool night air, which usually brought her comfort, now felt oppressive. Her thoughts raced, filled with doubt and fear. The journey ahead was fraught with danger, and the memory of her failure during the battle with Vaelis weighed heavily on her. She replayed the events in her mind, feeling the sting of her own inadequacy. What if she couldn't protect her friends when they needed her most?

Her gaze drifted to Vaelis, who slept soundly on the other side of the fire. His powers were formidable, and though he was now on their side, she couldn't shake the fear that he might lose control again. The idea of him turning against them once more was terrifying, and Amelia found herself watching him closely, as if her vigilance could keep the darkness at bay.

Suddenly, the temperature in the cave began to drop. A chill that had nothing to do with the night air crept in, causing Amelia to shiver. Her breath came out in visible puffs, and she realized with alarm that the cold wasn't natural. It wasn't hers.

Ice began to form on the cave walls, thick and crystalline, spreading with unnatural speed. Panic gripped her as she scrambled to her feet. The walls of the cave were closing in on them, encasing them in a prison of ice.

"W-wake up, everyone!" Amelia's voice trembled as she shook Emma awake.

Emma stirred, shivering as the cold seeped into her bones. "What's h-happening?" she asked, her teeth chattering.

Damagnus was already on his feet, his staff at the ready. "Is this cold yours, Amelia?" he asked, suspicion flashing in his eyes.

"No," Amelia replied, her voice barely a whisper. "This cold... it's different. I can feel it."

The ice continued to advance, the walls now halfway to sealing them in. Ryu, in desperation, unleashed his dragon breath, a torrent of searing flames aimed at the ice. But instead of melting, the ice seemed to absorb the heat, growing thicker and more impenetrable.

"What kind of ice doesn't melt?" Ryu asked, his voice tinged with alarm. All eyes turned to Amelia.

"Amelia, you need to do something," Skylar urged, backing away from the encroaching ice. Fear was evident in her voice, but there was also trust―a belief that Amelia could save them.

Amelia's heart pounded in her chest, her hands trembling. "I can't," she whispered, her voice filled with despair. "I'm too weak."

"Who told you that?" Emma said, stepping forward to place a reassuring hand on Amelia's shoulder. "You survived Vaelis's shadow ball. You're stronger than you think."

"And... I'm sorry about that," Vaelis added from the shadows, his voice laced with guilt.

Amelia looked at each of her friends, seeing the hope and trust in their eyes. They believed in her, even when she didn't believe in herself. She knew that if she didn't try, they would be trapped here forever, or worse.

Taking a deep breath, Amelia stepped forward, her hands beginning to glow with a soft, light blue light. The ice around them seemed to react, slowing its advance, as if recognizing the power within her. The others watched in tense silence, their breaths held as they placed their trust in their smallest, yet perhaps mightiest, member.

With a determined expression, Amelia raised her hands higher, the glow intensifying. The ice walls shuddered as if resisting her power, but she pushed harder, willing herself to control the cold rather than be controlled by it. The light from her hands grew blinding, filling the cave with a brilliant blue radiance.

And then, with a sound like cracking glass, the ice began to retreat. The walls, once closing in, started to peel away, the thick layers dissolving into a fine mist that dissipated into the air. The temperature rose, the oppressive chill lifting as warmth returned to the cave.

Amelia collapsed to her knees, exhausted but triumphant. The cave was free of ice, and her friends were safe.

Emma knelt beside her, offering a hand. "I told you," she said with a smile. "You're stronger than you think."

Amelia looked up at her, a small smile forming on her lips. "Thank you," she whispered, feeling the warmth of their friendship wrap around her like a protective shield.

As they helped Amelia to her feet, the group shared a moment of quiet relief. But the night was far from over, and the dangers that lay ahead were still unknown.

"I bet this was Lavalia's magic" Lilly assured.
"Definitely, knowing her she's doing everything to stop us" Skylar agreed.
"Good thing I know exactly where she is!" Ryu and Skylar said in unison.

They soon followed Skylar and Ryu toward the eerie and ominous castle where Lavalia was in, unaware of her strong powers
