2012

Jeongguk and Aliza along with Nari all moved up a grade, they made it through the school year with quite some problems.

Nari got picked on a lot because she didn't speak, everyone looked at her an outsider but she was smarter than the grade she was in so she bumped up to fourth grade before Aliza made it to third even though the two started off in second. She made a reputation for being a alien from the other kids since she didn't use words to communicate like the people around her and that only made the gap she had with human kind even bigger.

Like all kids she dreaded going to school, not because it was too loud, but because everyone kept trying to get her to speak on purpose. She didn't understand why. She wrote on paper and nodded along to what people asked her if it was a yes or no question and she used her fingers to describe actions yet everyone wanted to hear words. Was that not enough? It wasn't like she hated her voice or something too extreme, she just didn't trust people because they always had an opinion on how her voice sounded or how they thought they knew her because of how she sounded.

Her voice was pretty high pitched and she kindof liked it but that didn't mean she was going to give people a reason to label her as a baby or a know it all because if nari really wanted too she could go into detail on a person so fast they would call her a smart mouth.

As for Aliza, Damien wouldn't let her live in peace. He always seemed to come out of the blue about random stuff that he thought she would like to impress her but she knew him better than that. He was only trying to show off infront of jeongguk and make it seem like he owned her. Aliza didn't like that. Who was he to claim her? She was not something he could take if he wanted to and he clearly thought other wise.

A few months back in the third semester of school, Aliza had heard naris voice for the first time. Jeongguk was pinching his sister and tickling her at the school playground and she giggled telling him to stop. Aliza couldn't hide the shock on her face and didn't wait a second to tell the little girl, after she caught her breath, that her voice was pretty. Nari smiled shyly and jeongguk stood there surprised.

After that day nari finally started speaking to Aliza in school and boy was it a change, the said girl kept it very quite and little by little they were having whisper conversations at the table with jeongguk. She finally made it to the friend stage with nari and she was glad.

Now for jeongguk....he didn't tell anyone but Damien had began for Bully him for that day when he and his friend Mario got into that fight and jeongguk didn't help. If he remembered correctly when the bell rang for lunch Damien waltzed up to him not waist ig any time to push him into the nearest wall while the teacher was gathering the other two classes they had to share lunch with and he punched him.

Jeongguk did try to defend himself but it didn't help much since he was skinny and tiny plus he never knew how to fight. It became continued everyday, where the bell would hit during lunch and he would receive punches to the gut and kicks to his legs. Aliza noticed the shirt in jeongguks clothes, they were longer and baggier. Like he wasn't showing any skin even on hot days.

Damien never hit his face because that would be asking for a call down to the office and randomly he never got caught either, the teacher was always preoccupied.

After the three moved up a grade and passed the summer all together, jeongguk had some news he needed to share. "Hey Aliza..." the said girl whipped her head around, her hair even longer than it was last school year. Her eyes shining brightly. Since her birthday had passed already, she was now ten and was dressed in a new shirt paired with leg warmers and a matching shirt to go with it.

"Yeah?" She took notice of the sad expression on jeongguks face, nari wasn't even looking she was slumped on the play ground floor at the park, unmoving. "We have to tell you something.." he looked too nervous. Aliza nodded her head looking down from where she was sitting at to see what nari was doing. The girls body language has changed completely. "Go ahead cookie!" Even though she sensed the negative news to come she still tried to cheer them up.

"My uh, o-our mom she- killed herself...this weekend when we were at your house...we have to uhh move back to Korea—"his voice broke at the end of his sentence. Aliza didn't register what she was being told and quickly embraced the male next to her. It was only when she looked down at nari again, when she saw her drawing a smiley face like the ones jeongguk drew her, when she broke down.

Tears flooded her face heavily. It was like she wasn't just crying from what she was being told, but like she was carrying both jeongguks and naris emotions. Jeongguk tightly embraced her sobbing into her shirt not caring that he was ruining it and she was doing the same. Her hands began to shake and she didn't know what was happening so she pulled away. "W-hen?!" She didn't mean to come off rough and the two knew that but she was caught up in the moment that she wasn't thinking.

"Two days from now." Aliza jumped down from the bar she had been sitting on and stood up on her feet feeling wobbly. She took steps, away from her two best friends. Aliza didn't know where she was going but she needed to get an adult. Her tiny body was shaking horribly and she couldn't breathe. "D-dad! P-le—" she cried dropping to the floor a few feet away from her dad. Her hands digging into the sand below her body trying to keep herself breathing but it wasn't working.

"Baby?! Oh my gosh. Jamie come here it's Aliza!!." Dante gasped clutching his daughter who was crying so hard and hyperventilating heavily. "Breathe baby breathe, one. two. three." Jamie muttered putting her hands on her daughters cheeks so she could focus on her voice. People gathered around including her two best friends.

Jeongguk couldn't help but feel that this was all his fault. He wasn't good for her. He's the reason she's like this right now. From a distance he cried. His tears making the sand turn mushy below his feet. Nari held his hand keeping her face hidden and towards the ground out of fear. Since the both of them came to the park under Aliza's parents supervision they decided to sit down and wait until everything was over.

"You two here." Dante yelled. Nari flinched visibly and jeongguk pulled her along knowing nothing good would come from not listening. "Are you two okay? Nari? Jeongguk?" He expected her father to be mad at them and point fingers but he asked them that instead.

While Jamie was getting her baby to come back to realization, Dante pulled the two into a hug. "Hey hey it's okay...can you tell me what happened?" Jeongguk felt more tears come from the opening of his eyes. Dantes arms felt warm. Like his fathers when he actually used to hug and wish them a good nights rest. Now that was all distant. "I told her we had to move back to Korea and she started crying and she couldn't breathe and that's when you saw her." He tried his best to state a clear sentence away from the fact that he was trying not to freak out.

Nari nodded her tiny head agreeing with him and Dante just had a soft look. "She's not gonna- d-ie right?!" His voice rose octaves higher. "No no-she's just having a panic attack. She's gonna be okay. How do you two feel?" Dante muttered when Aliza's breathing had returned to normal, a few people were gasping in relief and thanking the lord while Jamie squished her daughter in a hug.

"I feel...sad." Nari spoke, her pretty voice turned into one of a confused tone. "Okay let's get you two home so you can tell your dad about what happened okay?" Namjoon wouldn't be too angry so jeongguk really didn't complain much but he did have slow movements. Looking over to Aliza and her mom almost every minute.

After this incident, the siblings went home and dealt with their father while Aliza was laying in bed all day weak and with a strong headache. She felt like a slug and couldn't remember what had happened anyway. She didn't come to her senses until the late afternoon the day after, by then her computer had gotten and email from none other that jeon jeongguk.
