The clock ticked very slowly throughout the rest of his day. Angelo was quiet and counting down the minutes to sneaking out with Nashea. He hardly uttered a word while they trimmed the tree and decorated the cabin for Christmas. Parris noticed that a typically loud, outspoken, and flashy man was silent and humble today. Night had fallen over Aspen. The snow began to pour on the hard work they did outside, coating the bright green and red lights that adorned the exterior. Angelo didn't mind. He stared out of the window wistfully, heart fluttering inside his chest. The time was 9pm, just an hour shy of meeting up with Nashea.

"Why are you so quiet today?" Parris' voice made him flinch, instantly snapping him from his infidelious thoughts. Surprisingly, he had been faithful to Parris up until then. While his mind believed they were just going to have a walk, his heart knew better. This was his last chance with Nashea.

"Just enjoying family and thinking about the holiday" He mustered up a convincing smile for her, sliding it onto his visage. She mirrored it. Only difference was hers was genuine. The mere fact made guilt prick his heart. Parris was such a good girl, perfect even. She may have been tremendously high maintenance, but compared to some of his other options, her flaws were easier to deal with. Love would be easy with her. Angelo pondered every single day why it hadn't came yet. He was in strong like, but didn't love her.

"I'm excited for Christmas too. It's my favorite holiday" She weaved her arms around him from behind, resting her chin against his back. The guilt only grew in strength. "Now that everyone's quieting down, I'm about to go take a hot bath and possibly sip on some hot cocoa before I go to sleep. Do you want to come with me?" She offered. Panic quickened the beat of his heart. Quick on his toes, Angelo knew he would have to meet Nashea earlier in order to shake Parris.

"Yeah, I'll be up there in a few minutes. I'm a take the truck to the store. My mom said that we were out of cookie dough" He lied convincingly. "I'm a go pick some up because it's tradition to sit out cookies tomorrow on Christmas Eve night. You know for Santa and all that"

"Aww, that's so cute" She pouted. "Well, you go do that while I go prepare my night routine. You know it takes me hours to get ready for bed" That's exactly what he was counting on. "Yeah, you go do that" He kissed her forehead and then waited for her to disappear upstairs before he snatched his coat off the hanger in the closet.

Putting it on quickly, he grabbed the keys to the rental and hurried out of the door. Maybe it was paranoia, but he felt like a pair of eyes were on him as he headed for the car. Gelo didn't look back to see. His focus was primarily on getting to the car. Climbing inside, he released a breath of relief. "I'm not built for this sneaking around shit no more" He mumbled, starting the car up.

Driving in the snow, he was happy the truck was equipped with snow tires. He parked in front of her cabin and shot a quick text to her number, telling her that he was outside in a truck. Angelo was elated that she unblocked him. Things were going well. A little too well.
