After that night at the gala, nothing was quite the same between Freen and Becky. Their rivalry continued, but now it had an undercurrent that neither could ignore. In the boardroom, they still clashed with relentless energy, each pushing the other to defend ideas with precision and fire. But outside of work, their interactions had a new intensity-a thrill that grew each time they crossed paths.
One evening, Freen was working late at her office, finalizing NeoTech's project proposal. The building was mostly quiet, the hum of her computer and the ticking of the clock the only sounds breaking the silence. She was reviewing a complex slide when a soft knock sounded at her door, startling her.
Looking up, she was surprised to see Becky standing there, leaning casually against the doorframe with an amused smile on her face.
Burning the midnight oil, Freen?" Becky asked, letting herself in and closing the door behind her. "Haven't you heard? All work and no play..."Freen's eyes met Becky's, her heart already beating a little faster. "You're here late too. Just curious-are you here to check on my work, or to distract me?"
Becky shrugged, moving closer until she was standing just across the desk, her eyes fixed on Freen. "Oh, I finished hours ago. But I thought I'd check on the competition. See how NeoTech's 'fearless' CEO is holding up."
There was a playful tone in her voice, but her gaze was intense, daring, and Freen felt her pulse quicken. She pushed her work aside, gesturing to the seat across from her. "Take a seat, then. Let's see if you're as sharp in conversation as you are in competition."
Becky's eyes sparkled as she settled into the chair, leaning forward, elbows resting on her knees. "I'd say I'm sharper," she murmured, smirking. "And you know it."
"Oh, do I?" Freen challenged, her eyes narrowing slightly. "All I've seen is a company CEO who's clever, I'll give you that. But we both know clever isn't the same as... capable."
Becky's smile widened, her gaze unwavering. "Is that so? Careful, Freen, I just might prove you wrong. Maybe it's time you stop resisting and let yourself be a little impressed."
Freen felt her cheeks warm under Becky's gaze, but she wasn't about to back down. "I don't impress easily," she replied, her voice low and steady. "And besides, I thought we agreed not to mix business with... whatever this is."
Becky raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence. "Oh, so you think this is... something?" She leaned forward, her hand brushing Freen's across the desk-a touch that sent an undeniable spark between them. Becky's voice dropped to a murmur. "Because from where I'm sitting, it seems like you're the one who can't quite ignore it."
The tension between them thickened, and neither of them spoke for a long moment. Then, as if drawn by a force they could no longer resist, Becky stepped closer until only inches separated them. Her gaze softened as she looked at Freen, and Freen could feel the heat radiating between them.
Becky raised her hand, gently brushing her fingertips along Freen's cheek, lingering as her thumb traced a line down to Freen's jaw. "Freen..." she whispered, her voice barely audible. Her gaze dropped to Freen's lips, and Freen felt the last of her hesitation slip away.
Slowly, Freen leaned in, her lips brushing softly against Becky's, the kiss tender yet filled with a longing that had been building for months. Becky responded instantly, her hands slipping around Freen's waist, her fingers pressing in with a firmness that sent a shiver through Freen's entire body. The kiss deepened, their mouths exploring each other in a slow, languid rhythm that spoke of both passion and restraint.
But it didn't stay restrained for long. Freen felt Becky's fingers tighten around her waist, pulling her closer with a hunger that matched her own. She let out a soft sigh as Becky's lips moved to the edge of her jaw, trailing down to her neck with warm, open-mouthed kisses. Each touch seemed to set Freen's skin on fire, and she tilted her head, giving Becky more room to explore.
"Becky..." Freen murmured, feeling her knees weaken as Becky's mouth trailed lower, her lips pressing soft, teasing kisses along Freen's collarbone. Freen's hand found Becky's waist, holding her firmly, fingers pressing into the fabric of her dress, feeling the heat beneath it. She could feel Becky's breath against her skin, each kiss igniting her senses in a way she'd never felt before.
The intensity between them grew, and before Freen realized it, Becky was easing herself onto Freen's lap, straddling her as she pulled her in close, their bodies pressed together in a way that made Freen's heart race. Freen's arms wrapped tightly around Becky's waist, holding her as if she never wanted to let go, her hands splaying over Becky's back as she relished the warmth and weight of her.
Their lips found each other again, and this time, the kiss was deeper, more consuming. Freen felt Becky's tongue tracing along hers, slow and deliberate, drawing her in until she felt lost in the sensation. Their kiss was hungry, intense, each of them giving in to the longing that had been building between them for so long.
Becky's fingers threaded through Freen's hair, pulling her closer, while Freen's hands roamed down Becky's back, pressing into her waist with a firm but yielding grip. She could feel Becky's heartbeat echoing her own, each touch, each kiss, filling her with a fierce, undeniable longing.
As Becky's lips drifted back to Freen's neck, leaving soft, lingering kisses that sent waves of pleasure through her, Freen's hands found their way to Becky's hips, guiding her as they moved together, each touch filled with an urgency neither could contain. Becky's kisses grew bolder, pressing into the sensitive spot along Freen's collarbone, and Freen couldn't help but let out a soft, breathless moan, feeling herself melt into Becky's touch.
"Freen..." Becky whispered, her voice soft and full of warmth as she pulled back slightly, looking into Freen's eyes. "You have no idea how long it felt waiting for your touch."
Freen's lips curved into a soft smile, her gaze filled with equal warmth and longing. "I never wanted something so much as I want you," she replied, her voice just as soft. Her hand moved to Becky's cheek, thumb brushing gently along her skin as she pulled her in for another deep, lingering kiss.
They stayed like that for a while, lost in each other, their touches growing softer but no less intense. When they finally pulled away, both of them were breathless, their faces flushed, but there was a quiet sense of understanding between them-a feeling that they had crossed a line, one that neither of them wanted to go back from.
Becky eased herself off Freen's lap, her hand lingering in Freen's for a moment longer, her eyes full of warmth and mischief. "I should probably let you get back to work," she murmured, but the smile on her lips said otherwise.
Freen laughed softly, her pulse still racing. "I think that ship has sailed."
Becky smirked, brushing a thumb along Freen's cheek one last time. "Good," she whispered, her eyes glinting with that familiar spark. "Because I'm not going to go easy on you in the boardroom tomorrow, Freen."
Freen grinned, her heart still pounding from the intensity of the moment. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
With one last lingering glance, Becky turned toward the door, giving Freen a wink before slipping out of the office. Freen sat back, her mind still reeling, the warmth of Becky's touch lingering on her skin.
From that night on, their relationship took on a new depth. They maintained their rivalry in the boardroom, each challenging the other with renewed energy, but now, behind closed doors, their connection was undeniable. Late nights turned into shared moments of laughter, and work trips brought stolen moments where they could be together without any pretenses. Both knew the risks, but neither could resist the pull between them, one that felt as fierce as it did inevitable.
