Shubman Gill, the captain of Gujarat Titans, was having a mixed season so far. Some games were wins, some losses, but his focus and form were undeterred. However, even in the midst of all the matches and practices, he never missed his daily calls with his boyfriend, Ishan, who was busy shooting for his new movie. One evening after a particularly great innings, Ishan teased him on the phone, “So, Captain Saab, century laga rahe ho?”

Shubman, who usually held his confidence well on the field, found himself blushing. “Yaar Ishu, tum hotey toh aur accha lagta... saans lena bhi mushkil ho gaya tumhare bina,” he murmured.

Ishan chuckled, though he couldn’t help but blush. “Stop being so cheesy, Shub!” But his tone was soft, betraying how much he liked it.

A few days later, Gujarat Titans had a much-anticipated match against the Mumbai Indians at the packed Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Shubman was feeling a strange tension that day, missing Ishan even more. While he sat in the dressing room, quietly going over his batting strategy, Hardik Pandya suddenly came up to him, smirking.

“Kya hua, captain? Aaj kaafi bechain lag rahe ho,” Hardik teased, nudging him.

Shubman rolled his eyes, pretending to focus on his gloves. “Nothing, bhai. Just... nothing.”

But then, Hardik and some teammates burst out laughing. “Arey, chill maar look who is here!” Hardik pointed out to the VIP seating area. Shubman hesitated, annoyed by the teasing, but followed Hardik outside.

As they walked, Hardik added, “Someone special's here to cheer you on.”

Still slightly irritated, Shubman reluctantly glanced towards the VIP area. There, amidst the crowd, he saw him—Ishan, looking radiant in an orange sweatshirt, white jeans, and a white cap. He looked even more adorable in person, glancing around, probably trying to spot Shubman among the players.

Shubman’s face lit up as he locked eyes with Ishan. “Kahan ja raha hai, Captain Saab?” Hardik teased, grabbing his shoulder as Shubman instinctively started walking toward Ishan.

Shubman shot him a glare. “Apne Babu ke paas,” he replied, frustrated.

Hardik rolled his eyes, cringing at the nickname. “Match hai, yaar! Tu captain hai, pehle match khel le, phir jaa apne Babu ke paas.”

Shubman frowned, determined to make this game quick. “Toh jaldi khatam karna padega,” he muttered, his focus sharpening as the match began.

As the match began, Mumbai Indians went to bat first. Shubman, positioned strategically, couldn’t resist standing near Ishan’s seating section on the boundary line. Hardik noticed and snickered, nudging him, “Aaj toh captain saab ka dhyan game pe kam aur audience pe zyada hai!”

Shubman, embarrassed but refusing to admit it, continued his vigil, sneaking glances at Ishan whenever he thought no one would notice. At one point, a crucial catch came his way near Ishan’s seat, and as Shubman lunged forward to grab it, he glanced over at Ishan and blew a quick, sly flying kiss after his successful catch. Ishan blushed, caught off guard, while his friends—Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Aditya Roy Kapoor—couldn’t resist teasing him.

When Gujarat Titans came in to bat, Shubman took the crease. He was in top form, smashing the ball for boundaries every chance he got. But as he glanced at the giant screen, his heart skipped a beat. He noticed Aditya Roy Kapoor putting an arm around Ishan’s shoulder, laughing, while Varun seemed a little too friendly, constantly touching Ishan’s arm while talking. Shubman’s jaw clenched as jealousy took over, the sight fueling his drive to hit even harder. Each time he saw someone touch Ishan, he’d smash a four or a six with fierce aggression.

Hardik, batting alongside him, couldn’t help but laugh. “Arey, kis cheez ka badla le raha hai, shubman?”

Shubman didn’t answer, his eyes narrowed as he kept his focus both on the field and on his boyfriend in the stands. With each shot he hit, he looked at Ishan, who squealed in joy every time. But Shubman’s jealousy simmered, especially as he noticed Aditya’s lingering touch on Ishan’s shoulder.

Finally, when he was at 99, Shubman noticed Ishan closing his eyes, hands clasped together as if praying. Smiling to himself, he took a deep breath and smashed the next ball for a six, achieving his century in style. The stadium erupted in applause, and the crowd cheered loudly, waiting for his signature bow. Shubman, however, turned and bowed specifically toward the VIP section, making sure to send a flying kiss to Ishan.

As he walked back after scoring 111 runs, Shubman headed to the dressing room, feeling triumphant. But even in his joy, his jealousy over Aditya and Varun’s friendly behavior lingered. Not wasting a moment, he quickly removed his cricket gear and went straight to the VIP area, eyes burning with possessiveness.

As he arrived, he noticed Varun teasingly giving Ishan a quick kiss on the cheek. That was it; Shubman had had enough. He marched right up to Varun and, with a stern expression, said, “Excuse me, Varun bhai, zara side mein ho sakte ho?”

Varun looked slightly taken aback by Shubman’s intense tone but quickly moved aside. Ishan’s eyes widened in surprise as Shubman took the seat right next to him, eyes still narrowed in jealousy.

Without a word, Shubman gently wiped the spot on Ishan’s cheek where Varun had kissed him, his possessiveness clear as day. Ishan looked at him, speechless, his cheeks tinged with red. “Shubhi… tum yahan?”

Shubman finally relaxed, leaning in to plant a soft kiss on Ishan’s forehead, then his cheek. “Thanks for coming to cheer me on, baby,” he whispered, his voice softer but still holding a hint of jealousy.

As they watched the rest of the game, Ishan kept leaning into Shubman, who couldn’t help but stay possessively close. During a controversial decision, Ishan insisted, “He’s not out! Dekhna, review lenge aur wapas bulaenge.”

Shubman chuckled, finding Ishan’s confidence endearing. “Baby, I’m the captain. Trust me, woh out tha.”

Ishan pouted, refusing to back down. “No, I know I’m right. Main captain hoon yahaan pe.”

Shubman laughed, giving in. “Haan, baby, tumhe hi sab pata hai.”

Varun, Ranbir, and Aditya laughed, whispering amongst themselves about how whipped their mighty captain was. Shubman ignored them, his focus entirely on Ishan. As Gujarat Titans secured the win, he looked at Ishan with a satisfied smile. “Let’s go. Bhaiya tumse milna chahte hain.”

Taking Ishan’s hand, Shubman led him to the dressing room, his arm protectively around him the whole time.
