The party was amazing, Matteo had booked The Bennington Hotel for the reception—it was one of the most gorgeous hotels in Boston! The whole setting was very romantic, he had chosen a very traditional red and pink theme so it felt like Valentine's Day in July. There were flowers, ribbons and bows and heart-shaped decorations everywhere.

Everyone had come, even my friends, and we all partied hard. Even Karen showed up, Thea's old arch-enemy! She was a friend of Matteo's mom apparently and had the grace to come... didn't look like she grudged Matteo for not choosing her, Thea told me she used to be obsessed with Matteo. But she came with a hot guy of her own on her arm so it looked like she'd moved on.

She did gawk at me and Pierce though, guess she couldn't believe we were still together. Pierce meanwhile practically ran the whole show, making the first heartwarming toast and playing the entertaining host. He even got a smile out of Matteo's dad, which was rare, from what I heard.

We all spent the rest of the night dining and dancing almost till dawn—who knew weddings could be so much fun?

"I love weddings, I can't wait to have my own!" Janina exclaimed excitedly at the dinner table.

"Bet you'd make a beautiful bride," Shane said, giving her a flirty grin. She giggled.

"Thank you," she said, blushing openly.

"Hey, wanna hit the dance floor once more?" Shane asked her. She nodded enthusiastically and he swept her off her feet for the rest of the night. Pierce chuckled beside me.

"Hope your cousin doesn't get her hopes up, Shane's a bachelor through and through and won't plan to settle down anytime soon," he said.

"I know, I almost had my heart broken by him before I got together with my baby here," Julie said, squeezing Tom's arm. He grinned at her shyly.

"What say you and I take another spin around the dance floor too?" He asked, and Julie pulled him to his feet in reply. They glided across the dance floor, twirling most admirably so that many onlookers clapped. Pierce smirked.

"Taught him everything he knows," he said, making me laugh.

"Really? You taught Tom to dance?" I asked.

"Yep, back in high school—guy had two left feet before I got done with him," Pierce replied.

"Wow, you're quite the tutor in many areas!" I said in admiration. Pierce took my hand and kissed it.

"It's one of my many talents," he said with a wink. Haruko sitting beside me groaned.

"Ugh, I know it's to be expected but do all weddings have to be so lovey-dovey?" She asked. Cassie giggled.

"Just wait till you meet the love of your life," she said before pulling David to the dance floor. Haruko turned to me.

"Go on, you two, I know you wanna," she said, rolling her eyes. I did wanna dance with Pierce again but didn't wanna leave Haruko alone—but she must've sensed my thoughts and waved me off.

"I'll just be here scarfing down these rolls, they're delish!"

"Okay," I laughed as Pierce led me to the dance floor again. Not like we hadn't danced all night but dancing with Pierce was one of my favorite activities. I loved how warmly he held my hand, how he cradled me close to his chest and had his eyes fixed on me while he twirled me. It was a wonderful excuse to be close to Pierce in public. He had danced with Thea earlier and came away with a smile leaving her blushing—bet he wished her good luck on the honeymoon, my Pierce had some skills getting a girl to blush.
