6.0 Recruits

(Change persona to Cethus)

I was wearing a long coat and a hood that covered my face.

I entered one of the buildings with my documents. I approached the woman standing at the cash register. I gave her a piece of paper with filled-in information. I left the blanks that I didn't know how to fill in. The woman accepted my sheet.

She looked at it askance as she read the information it contained.

"Excu..." She began, but didn't finish the sentence because someone else approached her and grabbed her by the arm.

The person whispered something to the woman.

"I-I understand..." She answered the person.

I received a star-shaped pin from the woman standing behind the counter. I pinned the pin to my uniform and left the building.

I began to wander along the Sonill market. The woman also told me where to go.

How on earth did they accept these papers? I don't know if they just don't care who they accept, or if they're blind. I filled in two of the fifteen gaps on the document.

After a while of walking I reached the point. I was on the far outskirts of the city. The border of the capital, with the forest of the Beast. This is where one of the knights' headquarters was located, the one in front of me is for novices.

I didn't know what to do with myself, it was the only idea I had to kill the boredom.

I lied to Lytia then, telling her that I didn't have time to explain anything to her. It was my excuse, because I didn't feel like talking to her.

I entered the tent marked "entrance". I showed them my badge and they automatically let me through.

"Hey you weakling, quickly go change and join the ranks, everyone is waiting for you!" A muscular man shouted at me from a distance.

I did as he ordered me and joined the ranks. There were other novices like me standing here. There is one significant difference between me and them.

I laughed quietly when I thought about it.

"Don't laugh when we're standing on guard! Not only are you late, but you're not listening to my orders!" The same man said then.

I stopped laughing.

I've only been here 5 minutes and this fat guy already has a problem with me.

Why is everyone staring at me? I'll ignore it.

"Everyone probably knows why they're here!" The muscular man shouted, walking with his hands folded along the line.

As for the differences between the recruits and me..."The training will be intense and we'll start tomorrow morning."...Unlike them, I can use a sword very well..."Any lateness to training is taken into account, 2 lateness and you're out."...This is going to be great fun.

I wasn't listening to what the man was saying.

I wanted to laugh at the thought of how funny it would be, but I immediately covered my mouth with my hand. I got scared because when I did that the man was walking past me. I looked like I saw a big spider.

The man stood in front of me and stared at me in silence. I didn't know what to do so I kept my hand over my mouth, with a terrified expression. The fat man bowed to be at my height and looked straight into my eyes.
