She falls on her arms with a thud. Traveling between portals was never an easy job. That is probably why so few visitors ever come. The ringing from the portal grows fainter every second she spends getting up. She starts by placing her legs sturdily. Then she pushes the rest of her body with her arms pushing from the ground. She fixes a few strands of her dark purple and black hair. She turns to her right and holds onto the horizontal rails of the spiral wooden staircase. The portal is on the fifth floor of the tower while the cauldron room is on the first floor.
She passes by the lava rock and ice crystal bedrooms on the fourth floor. She always wondered how they failed to cancel each other out. On the third floor, she passes by the green and brown tree-themed bedrooms. These have growing vines extending more each day. And on the second floor, she stops by the library. These shelves also had growing vines, possibly pokeweed. She stopped by because she saw this glowing light blue aura coming from inside. She later finds out that it was from the staff of Great Windchau. It was a simple wooden staff but the gem that rests on top has a glow that never fades. She plays with it for a bit despite its weight. Then attempting to touch the gem, not knowing what it does. Unfortunately for her, Great Windchau startled her before she could touch it. "Megara," he spoke and she flinched and let go of the staff.
He catches it. "Great Windchau!" She wipes her hands on her black leather denim pants.
He scoffs and puts the staff back in its place, leaning against one of the shelves. "You know, once you graduate, you'll be able to have a staff of your own." He puts his hands behind him.
"Can't I try it?" She asks. But she gets the same answer every time.
"You are stubborn, Megara." He pauses, "You do not have enough resistance power to bear the staff." That made sense. The staff was quite heavy. "Come, we must strengthen it before we proceed to test more deadly potions." He turns back and leads her to the first floor. "Wings, please." He advises and she compresses her wings, making them hide behind her.
It was a dimly lit area with a chandelier of eight small ever glowing candles. There were boxes laid randomly and shelves filled bottom to top with glass bottles. The few windows provided a bit of light. The growing vines and cobwebs may contribute to the lack of light passing through. However, the main source of light would be from the fire under the black cauldron. The cauldron contained clear and bubbling liquid, waiting for ingredients to be placed in. Megara is given a small vial of glittery gold liquid. She placed this in her pocket and began choosing different bottles. She chose bottles with a green liquid and a blue liquid inside. This recipe was familiar to her, she thought to herself while stirring the cauldron. She poured in and balanced the levels of both. Then, she grabbed a clear bottle and scooped some of the mixture into it. Great Windchau gestures for her to drink it. She follows and her head suddenly starts producing smoke. Good for her, it meant that the potion worked. On the other hand, she was about to perish. She waited for a few seconds before grabbing the vial that was given to her before. Her eyelids were closing on their own. This is one sign to tell you how many seconds you had left and by this point, you still had fifteen long seconds. Luckily, she still had her consciousness and she drank the vial.
"Right, we can now proceed." He pulls out a book and starts lecturing her.
