She made her way up the treehouse castle. Chatters and laughter could be heard on the left side. No wall separated the rooms, only a few large tree branches and arches. She curtsied to the throne with a smile. Her mother, Queen Millow, lost her smile and put her teacup down once she saw her daughter. Everyone in the room stopped smiling and cleared their throats. "Princess Megara." She said sternly, "My," she hesitated, "daughter." The ladies in the room stood up from their seats and bowed as well. "What do you need?"
Megara straightened her posture. "Nothing, Queen Millow. I am simply visiting with no reason."
"Very well, then. Your sisters will attend to you in a minute." She took a sip of her tea.
"Thank you, Queen Millow." She curtsied once more. Once she left the throne room, her smile faded as well. It was known that she did not favor Megara over her other daughters due to her father. It was the only flaw that Queen Millow had, bearing the demon king's child. She comes here every other night, to see how her mother is doing, for her and her father.
She uses her mother's telescope. This is the largest on the land and you can see the whole land from this telescope on this tree castle. She hears the cheerful footsteps of her half-sisters, Ivy and Daisy. She removes her view of the telescope and watches them hold hands and run to the throne room. She decides to linger behind a tree, close enough to see and hear them greet their mother. Queen Millow, smiling, something she could never see up close. It gave her heart a sinking feeling. Her half-sisters were allowed to call their mother, 'mom.' It pained her, but it sure made sense to her.
She silently left the fortress. Knowing that there are better ways to manage her emotions, she heads back to Dark Seer.
