Part 6:

I walked into the main building to sign in. I then walked over to Mary to see what she wanted me to do first. She gives me instructions and I get right on it. I can barely focus on what I'm doing though, because I'm too busy thinking about what just happened with Zack.  Once again, when I brought up Jake, he got really pissed, and that amazing smile that is always on his face, faded. But this time, he walked away, and it was very clear that he was mad. All because I asked him if he was jealous. He said that he wasn’t, but by the way he acted, it seemed like he was. I still can’t figure out why he’d be jealous. I try to put all that just happened at the back of my mind, but I have no luck. I go outside and start arranging oranges. Just when I finally distract myself from everything, Jake walks up.

"Hey," he says, grabbing some oranges and beginning to help me. He is so hot.

"Hey," I say, really happy that he came over here.

"We still on for Saturday?" he asks. This is my chance to ask if it's a date or not, because clearly Zack has no interest in asking him for me.

"Yup," I say, hoping that he can't see just how excited I am. I mean, I want him to know that I’m excited, but I don’t want him to know exactly how excited I am.

"Awesome," he says, smiling right at me. I just can't ask if it's a date or not, that would cause too much embarrassment for me. Usually I would just ask, not caring how bad I embarrass myself, but not with him. He is the last person that I want to do that with.

We keep arranging the oranges for a couple of minutes, when he picks up three of them.

"Watch this," he says, and I turn to watch him. He starts juggling them.

"Whoa!" I say, impressed. He starts humming that song that you hear at the circus. He then stands on only one foot, and continues juggling. I start laughing my head off, and he joins me.  He does it for a couple more seconds, and then drops one of the oranges.

"Uh oh!" he exclaims, laughing, as all three oranges crash onto the ground. I start laughing uncontrollably, and so does Jake.

"That was impressive," I say, when I finally am able to stop the embarrassing laughter. He smiles at me, and then winks. He actually winked at me! He picks up the oranges, and then Mary comes by.

"Are you guys working hard, or hardly working?" She jokes.

"Haha, sorry Mary," I say, getting back to work.

"Sutton, I'd like you to go work the till now," she says, and I wonder if it's because she saw Jake and I’s flirt fest, and wanted to separate us.

"Sure," I say, and head to the till. When I get inside, I see my best friend Rachel.

"Rachel!" I squeal, and run up to her.

"Sutton!" she exclaims, and hugs me. "I have to go in a second, but we need to hang out," she says.

"I have so much to tell you," I say. "Text me later and we can hang out tonight."

"Okay," she says. We say goodbye, and then she leaves.

I work the till for a little while, until Mary asks me to go clean things up outside. When I get out there, I hear people talking behind the main building. Jake and Zack. I peak my head around the corner, to hear what they're saying better.
