Part 4:

While we're walking, I decide to tell Zack about my plans with Jake.

"So on the weekend I'm going to a lake with Jake," I say to him.

            "Really?" he asks.

"Yeah," I say, watching the expression on his face. He's not mad, right?

"Like as a date?" he asks.

"I have no idea. That's what I'm trying to figure out. What do you think?" I ask. Truthfully, I really didn't have a clue. I wanted it to be a date, but maybe he didn't think of it that way. Maybe he just thought of it as two friends hanging out.

"I don't know...” He says. For some reason he seems mad, or maybe even disappointed in me. He's not jealous, right? I mean, I met him yesterday, and I haven't been overly attractive in the least. And it's not like he knows Jake, either. He saw him today, and I don't even think they met. Now that I think about it, if I heard that he was going on a date with some girl, I'd be jealous. Ugh, I don't like him though. I like Jake. Not Zack. Zack is my friend, and I can tell that we're going to be really good friends.

We don't talk after that until we get to his house, which is closer to mine than I thought it was. It literally took three minutes to get there. When we walked up to his house, a dog came running up to us.

"Here she is," Zack says, seeming to forget what we were just talking about. She comes over to me and starts sniffing me.

"Aww, you're so cute!" I say, kneeling down so that I'm the same height as her.

"This is Bella," Zack says to me.

"She's adorable," I say. I then look up at Zack's house. Holy. It's huge, and really nice.

"Nice house," I say, suddenly embarrassed that he saw my tiny little house.

"Haha thanks, it's kind of big for just my mom, brother and I," he says. I keep patting Bella for a minute.

"Let's go inside, I'll introduce you to my mom," he says. I stand up and follow him in. We walk in and I'm blown away. It's really nice inside too. There are boxes all over and they still haven't unpacked, but it's going to look really nice when they're all settled in.

            "Mom?" Zack calls out.

"I'm in the kitchen, Sweetie!" a woman’s voice calls out. I look at Zack and he blushes, and then walks towards where the voice came from.

"Here we go..." he says, and I get the impression that he is not looking forward to this. We walk into the kitchen and I see a lady standing in front of the sink, and a boy a little bit older than me sitting at the kitchen table.

"Oh, you've brought someone with you," she says, smiling at me.

"Yeah, this is Sutton. Sutton, this is my mom," he says, introducing us.

"Nice to meet you, Sutton," she say, giving me another friendly smile.

"You too," I say, returning the smile. I just then realize that I don't know what Zack's last name is, so I don't know what to call her. Then again, she probably doesn't have the same last name as him anyway.
