Aurora's pov:
I put my phone down and went to go grab my siblings. I didn't want them to stay here with Mom, knowing how she was. The thought of leaving them alone with her like this sent a chill down my spine."Oliver Maisie, we're going to Aria's house again come on," I said softly as I entered their room.
"Okay, Maisie do you want these PJs or this one?" I asked, holding up two options. In one hand, I had her favorite pink nightgown with Anna from Frozen in the middle, and in the other, a blue one with Elsa on it.
Maisie's eyes lit up as she pointed eagerly. "The Elsa one, pleaseee!" she said, smiling wide.
"Okay, okay," I giggled, helping her pull the soft fabric over her head.
Once Maisie was set, I looked over at Oliver, who was rummaging through his closet. "You need help over there, Oliver?"
He shook his head barely glancing up. "No I'm good," he said.
"Alright, just tell me when you're done. I'm gonna go grab some money," I said, standing up to leave the room.
I didn't have much on me, but Aria's place wasn't far, and having a few dollars just in case made me feel better. I took one last glance back at Oliver and Maisie, both getting ready without complaint, and felt a small, quiet relief knowing they were safe with me—for now, at least.
"Hehehe" Oliver laughed in the back seat. Oliver's laugh sounded exactly like John's laugh. It was both loud and clear. Oliver reminded Aurora of their dad. They both had short brown hair, their smiles were big and bright. Literally anything you can think of they both had it. They were so similar. Especially their laughs.
"Now what do you call a fake noodle?" John asked "I don't know dad what?" "AN IM-PASTA" John laughed loudly. "Hehaheha" Aurora laughed "daddy that was so funny tell me another one" she begged "hmm? How about tomorrow daddy's gotta get his beauty sleep" He smiled at her "you're right you're so ugly daddy" Aurora laughed "HEY!" John picked her up and carried her to her bed.
