I just wanted to write a happy poem about you.
On everything I love, it was just too hard to do.I put my pen to the paper,
But my mind drifted to hell and thought about you.I swear we had good times,
But it's all covered up in gloom. You ran away because I was too good to you.
I'm sorry that I didn't use and take advantage of you.I told you I was a good guy,
You said that's a red flag for you.I think I was more happy about the idea of you
Over me actually loving you. When I think of heaven,
There's nothing to reflect you.The happiness in this poem is that I finally got closure about you,
Even though it was never about you.
It was the cognitive dissonance I drew.
