Tricky Transformations

When I woke up hours later, the sun was beaming through the window, Ron was no longer next to me and Sierra was not in her crib. I gathered some clean clothes and made my way to the bathroom, taking a quick shower before placing the dirty clothes in the hamper before walking down the stairs once I was dressed and my hair and makeup were done to my liking.

"Momma!" Sierra shouted happily as she walked over to me with a stuffed animal in one hand and a bottle of milk in another.

I picked her up and balanced her on one side of my body, holding her close to me. Cuddly mornings like this made me truly cherish my time with her. Especially since I knew that I would soon be incredibly busy with schoolwork.

"Where's your daddy?" I asked her after placing a gentle kiss to the side of her head, waiting to see if she had anything to say to me.

"Daddy's outsi.'" she said sweetly while she looked down at the lavender bunny in her hand, telling me where her father went as best she could.

"He did," I began to confirm in a playful tone as I walked down the stairs with her, "Are he playing with your Uncle Harry?"

She nodded her head again and I walked down the stairs with my daughter in my arms. The house was always a bit of a mess, yet cozy as I made my way to the large screen door that separated the home and the large yard. The moment I stepped outside, Ron flew down to me immediately and hopped off of his broom with a small chuckle.

"Are you insane, woman?" he began to say in a teasing tone as he shooed me back inside the house, "It's freezing out here."

I laughed a little as I was easily pushed into the home by my boyfriend. After taking a few steps, I found myself in the kitchen. Molly stood a few feet away and all I could tell was that she was stirring something in a large pot.

"Oh, Marilyn, my dear, are you feeling alright?" she began as she put down the wooden spoon and placed a hand on my forehead, obviously concerned, "You've been sleeping all day. It's nearly time for you to floo to your parents' house."

"Are you serious?" I asked as I felt my eyes widen before a sigh left my lips at the same time that Sierra rested her head on my shoulder, "That's insane, even for me. I guess the stress of the whole Veela thing was getting to me."

"Maybe your body is storing energy because it knows that the transformation will begin tonight." she offered as she looked for an explanation to what had just happened.

"I wish I didn't have to deal with this." I mumbled while I played with Sierra's red hair that was identical to her father's.

She nodded her head in understanding as I sat down on one of the wooden chairs after I placed Sierra on the floor so that she could crawl over to the living room and play with the mess of toys which she constantly left all over the carpeted floor. I pulled my knees up towards my chest and thought about everything that had occurred over the last few hours.

"I am going to miss you and Sierra here, this house has so many rooms it gets lonely after a while." she said, sitting down next to me at the table.

"I'm going to miss you too, Molly." I said to her as I slid my legs down again, "I know Sierra is going to miss you. Do you think I'm doing the right thing by bringing her with me? Maybe I shouldn't go back to school."

"Now, we can't look at the world that way. How are you ever going to accomplish your dreams of being an auror if you don't go to school?" she asked me, reminding me more of a parent than my own parents ever could.

I nodded my head, knowing that she was right anyway. We sat in a comfortable silence and a clock by us chimes loudly, letting everyone on the property know that it was eleven thirty at night. I felt Molly look at me with sympathy in her eyes as we stood up. Ron, Harry, Fred, George, and Ginny walked in the house, each of them covered in snow from the quidditch game they just played. Hermione was the first person I noticed as her body slammed into mine and she hugged me tightly. Ginny went next, and then came Fred, Molly, George, Arthur, and Harry. Ron, Sierra and I were the only ones left in the sitting room as I slowly inched towards the fireplace.

"I'm going to miss you," he began to say as he tried his hardest not to let too much emotion seep into his words, "Actually; we're both going to miss you."

"I'm going to miss both of you too. I'll be back before you know it, I promise." I said sweetly while I looked up at him.

Ron nodded his head, moving towards me and placing a kiss on my lips. My lips slowly moved against his and when he pulled away I saw an untold amount of sadness in his eyes. It was hard to believe that this was the same man that I had chosen to be the father to my daughter. Above all else, Ron was my first love.

"I love you." I said in a caring tone as my thumb traced his bottom lip.

"I love you too." he replied in the same tone which I had used a moment ago, kissing my forehead and pulling me towards him in a hug that I naturally returned.

When we pulled away, I pulled Sierra up into my arms and placed a kiss on top of her hug as I hugged her tightly. I placed her in Ron's arms and stepped closer to the fireplace, grabbing a handful of the green powder.

"Bradford Manor." I said in a clear whisper as I threw the powder to the ground, already feeling annoyed with myself and my situation.

I walked into the sitting room only for my mother to grab my wrist tightly and make me whine. Despite the fact that I wanted this over as soon as possible, I also wanted to see my sister since I knew she must be as nervous as I was.

"Marilyn," she began as she tugged me towards my old room, "we only have three minutes before the transformation begins!"

She sat me down on my old bed and I looked in confusion at the woman standing beside my mother. I wasn't sure if I had ever seen her before, but there was something about her face that seemed familiar. She was most likely the same woman who had been our nurse when we were children.

"Who are you?" I asked her.

"I'm the medi-witch, Linda. I'm here to assist you through your transformation." she said.

"I've given birth, how much pain can I go through that will be so unbearable compared to this?" I asked with a small roll of my eyes.

The medi-witch raised her eyebrows and looked at me as the loud clock struck twelve. I waited for pain, feeling nothing yet. I crossed my arms, hugging myself as I waited to see if anything else would happen. Maybe I was just lucky.

"I knew it wasn't going to be bad." I said to her with a smirk on my face.

"The eldest twin begins first." she said.

I tilted my head to the side in confusion and almost immediately heard my twin sister's loud shrieks of pain will the halls of the manor. I felt my eyes widen as small tremor slithered up my spine.

"Once the transformation begins, you'll get a vision that gives you a clue about you mate. It could be anything, a smell, a color, or if you're lucky you'll get a vision of their face or at least eyes." she said, handing me a vial.

"What does this do?"

"It eases the pain just a bit." she said.

I downed it the second the words fell from her mouth and once the small amount of liquid hit the pit of my stomach, my body fell back onto the bed as I started screamed in pain. My skin felt like it was burning and my bones felt as though they were shrinking. My muscles were being stretched and my hair felt as though it was being pulled out at the roots. I felt the most unbearable pain from all at my shoulder blades and I turned on my stomach to relieve the pressure. I heard flapping above me and turned my head slightly to see indigo blue and black feather wings sprouting out of my back. My eyes slowly closed and the world turned black save for the color green filling my thoughts as a particular scent filled my senses.

When my eyes finally opened, my body felt stiff and I slowly moved my limbs around a bit as I stretched before getting out of bed. I made my way over to the mirror on my dresser and my eyes widened at the new me. I was significantly shorter, at least four inches away from my previous 5'6" height. My eyes were still the same shade of blue and my thick black hair that used to be just hitting my shoulders was now reaching down to the small of my back. My lips were fuller and they seemed to be a nice natural shade of pink. The newfound curves of my body was large and upon further inspection my breasts were just a cup size larger and were now a C instead of the B they had been for years. The curve of my butt was much more noticeable. I heard a knock on my door and it was soon opened revealing my sister.

"You look gorgeous, well, you looked beautiful before, but now you're really curvy and I'm jealous." she said with a loud groan as I laughed, most likely annoyed since she had always been the curvy one.

I chuckled before looking her up and down. She was still standing at a proud 5'6 but her curves shrank significantly and her hair was inches shorter. It was almost like we had swapped bodies.

"You look perfect as always." I said with a smile on my face as she stepped closer towards me.

"So, did you get any clue as to who your mate is?" she asked me as she sat on the edge of my bed.

"Actually, I did. I just kept seeing the color green and there was this like really amazing and seductive smell. It was sort of like the smell of the beach. It's probably Ron." I began to say with another shrug, "What about you?"

"Well, I kept seeing the colors blue and bronze so she's probably in Ravenclaw." my sister answered.

"Maybe your soulmate is Lovegood." I teased, making her gasp as I slinked my arm through hers before we both walked down the stairs and into the dining room where our parents were.

My mother smiled when she saw us coming down the stairs and my dad continued his reading of the Daily Prophet, not even bothering to look at us. I looked at the clock curiously and sighed in relief when I saw the time.

"Wow, it's only seven in the morning. I thought the transformation was going to take longer than seven hours."

"Actually it took a few days; we're leaving for Hogwarts in an hour. I was hoping you'd both be awake in time for the train." my father said.

I felt my eyes widen as my sister and I ran upstairs to change and get our trunks ready. When we managed to drag the two oversize trunks downstairs, my parents were already standing in front of the fireplace. We all took our turns throwing the green powder to the ground and soon I found myself standing in front of the scarlet red train that I thought I would never see again. I gave my mother a quick hug before going off in search of the family of redheads that I knew were worried about me. I walked toward them when I saw Ginny put her trunk in the pile and I felt an arm pull me back. I turned to see Ashley pulling me towards her.

"What are you doing?" I asked her, "Why don't you go find your friends, I'm sure they miss you."

"You're my twin sister. I lost you once, I'm not going to lose you again." she said, moving her hand to hold onto mine as we walked towards the Weasley's. I heard collective whispers from those around us.

'It's the Bradford twins, and they're Veelas!

I heard that Marilyn was gone for so long because she had a baby.

I heard that Ashley and Ginny Weasley were caught snogging in the bathroom.

They used to be hot, but look at them now. I think they just successfully ruined the self-esteem of every girl in here.

When I stood behind Ron, I placed my hands over his eyes, a task that was no longer easy to do. Ron quickly turned around and his eyes widened.
