Elias entered the police station. The sheriff asked him the reason of his coming. Elias complained about the theft of his car. He gave the number of his car and showed him the key. The sheriff assured him that he would get his car as there were no thieves in that area. He asked Elias to remember the exact location where he had left the car. Elias couldn't convince the officer. So he asked him to wait until he called Becca. When he came out to call her he saw she was nowhere to be found. He shouted and screamed for her. He walked here and there to find her. The sheriff looked at his colleague and murmured something to him. "Hey gentleman come inside and rest for a while. It seems you are very tired" the officer put his arm around Elias. "I told my friend to wait here" he seemed to be in a state of panic. "Let's wait inside" the officer suggested him. It's getting cold now" "No, she might come here any moment" Elias sighed " "If she couldn't find me here she would be worried" They waited for some time. No trace of Nancy could be seen. The sheriff pulled him inside the building. "Now give me your address" he asked. "Park Avenue 16, Montague Street" Elias muttered. The sheriff looked at his colleague. He knew there was no such place as that. Even then he wrote that address. Elias got up. He knew it was no use of sitting there. He tried to be calm and normal. Then he assured the officer that he would find his friend. The officers after some enquiry let him go. They didn't want to involve in such a situation where everything is strange. They assumed Elias to be a vagabond or some depressed fellow, probably deceived by a woman. As soon as he came out Elias walked across the road. He thought about Becca where she might be now. Did someone kidnapped her? Or she went to Nancy's house? Or she had gone to her own apartment? Or someone killed her? No, no he should not think such nonsense. He put his hands inside his jacket and took out his phone. He dialed her number but no signal to be found. He put his right hand in his heart and prayed to God "Please tell me where's Becca. I don't need anything else" Usually he never prays except on certain occasions. Walking for an hour, he felt hungry. There were not many shops on the street side. At one side he saw a hospital. He wondered if Becca would be there. When he came near it, he read the sign board. It was an asylum. Some people were putting on light blue uniforms and wore whites. He searched every room for Becca. In one corner of a room he saw a man sitting on an armchair and murmuring to himself. Something draws Elias near him. The man looked at him. "At last you come!" the man said to him " I have been waiting for you since a long time" he got up from the chair and touched Elias' hands. "Did you see a girl with black frock? I have been searching her for a long time " Elias asked him. " I too have been waiting for you, Danny. You told me that I would be cured here. No dreams would frustrate me. Yes its true. Now you can take me from here as I am fully cured" the man assured him. But Elias couldn't make what he was telling. So he asked the man "Pardon me Sir, what's your name? The man then told me "Go and tell Anne that the authorities won't allow me to go out from here unless she gives her consent. I wanted to see my daughter Nancy." he expressed his sadness. Immediately Elias came to know that he was Nancy's father. Just then a nurse came in. The man showed his delightness in front of her. He said to her," He is Danny, Anne's lawyer. He has come to take me from here" The nurse smiled at Elias. She asked him to meet her outside the room. When Elias went out of the room and met her outside, she told him that she had phoned Anne to come to the asylum and take him from there. But she refused. Elias was so confused that he asked her to give him a place to stay for that night. The nurse showed him a spare bed in the attendant's room. She was kind enough to give him a bowl of noodles without any charges. When he laid on the bed, Becca's face came to his mind. If only he could meet her here, she would have met her father of the other world. Elias closed his eyes to sleep.
