Episode 5: Fragments of Good and Evil

Opening Scene

Jay sits alone in the shadows, his eyes flickering between his usual bright blue and a darkened, corrupted shade. He clenches his fists as electricity sporadically sparks around him, struggling to control the Shattered Goodness inside him.

Jay: under his breath, strained I can't... keep it together...

The main ninja team gathers around, watching Jay from a distance.

Lloyd: We can't let him keep suffering like this. Shin, you're the only one who knows how to purge this kind of energy.

Shin: nodding It'll be risky, but Rejitzu might be our only shot.

Garmadon: I'll do what I have to. The Destruction element can absorb the Shattered Goodness once Shin pulls it out.

The others exchange uncertain glances, but they nod in agreement.

The Crossroads

Arin, Sora, and Wyldfyre are on their first official mission. They stand at the bustling Crossroads, observing the Mechanic sneaking around with stolen tech.

Sora: whispering That tech he's got—it's designed to manipulate energy sources. We can't let him keep it.

Arin: Then let's stop him. But be careful—this is our first mission without the others.

The Mechanic spots them and smirks, pulling out modified gadgets.

Mechanic: Oh, look! Fresh meat!

A battle ensues, with Arin using creative katana moves, Sora hacking into the Mechanic's gadgets, and Wyldfyre holding back henchmen with her spear.

Mechanic: You kiddos think you can take me on? Good luck! I've upgraded since the last time the ninja tried.

Arin: draws his katana We've got this. Let's show him what we're made of!

Sora: grins, adjusting her gauntlet Leave his gadgets to me!

Arin dashes forward, katana at the ready. He leaps toward the Mechanic, who responds by activating a force field that deflects the attack, sending Arin tumbling back.

Mechanic: laughing You're going to have to do better than that!

Arin rolls to his feet and nods to Sora. She quickly steps up, her gauntlet glowing as she hacks into the Mechanic's force field generator.

Sora: Give me a few seconds... almost there...

Just then, one of the Mechanic's henchmen lunges at her. Wyldfyre jumps in, twirling her spear and blocking the henchman's strike. She then sweeps her leg under him, knocking him off balance before delivering a powerful kick that sends him flying into a pile of scrap.

Wyldfyre: smirking Back off! We're just getting started.

The force field around the Mechanic flickers, and Sora gives Arin a thumbs-up.

Sora: Now, Arin!

Arin springs back into action, using the containers as stepping stones to close the distance between himself and the Mechanic. He swings his katana in a powerful downward slash, forcing the Mechanic to block with his robotic arm. Sparks fly as the blade clashes with metal.

Mechanic: grunting, struggling against Arin's strength You're persistent, I'll give you that.

Suddenly, the Mechanic presses a button on his arm, releasing a shockwave that pushes Arin back. Sora moves in quickly, sending a magnetic pulse from her gauntlet that disrupts the Mechanic's circuits, momentarily disabling his arm.

Sora: Not so tough without your toys, huh?

Before the Mechanic can respond, Wyldfyre charges in with her spear ablaze, aiming a fiery thrust at him. The Mechanic narrowly dodges, the heat singeing his clothes.

Mechanic: You think a little fire can scare me?

He activates a hidden compartment on his belt, deploying mini-drones that swarm around the New Ninja, firing tiny but rapid laser beams. Arin slashes through the drones with precision, while Sora manipulates her gauntlet to emit an EMP pulse, temporarily disabling the remaining drones.

The Final Push

With his drones gone, the Mechanic becomes desperate. He swings his mechanical arm wildly, trying to fend off all three ninjas at once.

Arin: dodging and countering He's losing control—keep the pressure on!

Sora jumps onto a container above the Mechanic and, with perfect timing, leaps down, landing a solid punch on his back, causing his systems to glitch. Wyldfyre then spins her spear, flames spiraling out in a wave that traps the Mechanic against a wall.

Wyldfyre: Time to turn up the heat!

Arin finishes it off, charging at the Mechanic with his katana and holding it inches from his chest.

Arin: This is over. Surrender now, Mechanic.

The Mechanic looks around, realizing he's outmatched, his arm sparking and his gadgets disabled. He finally drops the stolen tech, scowling.

Mechanic: Alright, alright... you win this round.

The New Ninja stand victorious as the Mechanic's henchmen scatter. They regroup, catching their breath and sharing triumphant grins.

Sora: Nice work, team. First mission success!

The Cleansing Ritual

Back at the base, Jay is now restrained in the center of the room, visibly struggling against the Shattered Goodness. Shin stands over him, focused, while Garmadon waits, ready to absorb the darkness.

Shin: Jay, you have to focus. Find the part of you that's still... you.

Shin begins the Rejitzu ritual, his hands glowing as he reaches toward Jay. The corrupted shards of goodness start to emerge, and Garmadon steps in to absorb them.

Jay: I won't... let this take me!

With a final burst of energy, Shin draws out the remaining shards, which Garmadon absorbs, neutralizing them.

The Crossroads – After the Battle

Arin, Sora, and Wyldfyre regroup, panting after their battle with the Mechanic. Sora picks up a piece of the stolen tech, examining it.

Sora: This tech... it's designed to channel dragon energy.

Arin: If the Forbidden 5 are after dragon energy... they're probably trying to get enough power to restore themselves fully.

The team exchanges worried glances.

Jay sits, finally calm and clear-eyed, surrounded by the rest of the team.

Arin: The Forbidden 5 might be planning to use dragon energy to get back to full strength. If they do, they could take control of all elemental energy.

The room falls silent as the weight of this new threat sinks in.

Lloyd: Then we'll stop them. Together.
