The sunlight filtered gently through the trees of Viridian Forest as Ash and Serena walked along the familiar path. Memories of his early days as a Trainer came flooding back to Ash, and he couldn't help but feel nostalgic.

Then, a familiar, fluttering figure appeared above them, its wings shimmering in the sunlight. "Butterfree!" Ash called out, grinning with joy as his first-ever captured Pokémon flew down to greet him.

Butterfree landed, looking just as happy to see Ash, and beside it was the pink Butterfree, its lifelong mate. Ash's heart swelled, remembering how he'd let Butterfree go to be with her. The yellow scarf he'd given Butterfree as a parting gift still hung proudly around its neck.

"Serena, meet Butterfree," Ash said, turning to his companion. "He was my very first catch as a Trainer."

Serena smiled warmly. "Nice to meet you, Butterfree. Ash has told me so much about you."

Butterfree chirped happily in response, flapping its wings. Ash knelt down, a bit hesitant but hopeful. "Hey, Butterfree... would you want to come back to my team? Travel with us again?"

Butterfree nodded enthusiastically, its eyes shining with excitement. The pink Butterfree, curious about Serena, fluttered over to her, inspecting her with interest. Serena chuckled, holding out a gentle hand.

"Looks like your mate has taken a liking to Serena," Ash said with a grin, watching as Serena and the pink Butterfree exchanged friendly glances.

Serena smiled. "Well, I'd love to be friends too."

Ash beamed, feeling a sense of completion and pride. Butterfree was back with him, ready for new adventures. With Serena by his side and Butterfree on his team once more, Ash felt like he was setting out on a journey all over again.

As they continued through Viridian Forest, Ash noticed a nearby shrub rustling, drawing his attention. "Hey, Serena, let's go check it out!" he called, gesturing for her to follow.

He and Pikachu approached the bush, but before they could take a closer look, an aggressive Pinsir burst out, its massive horns clamping down menacingly. The Bug-type let out an angry cry, lunging forward.

"Look out!" Serena warned, stepping back as Pinsir charged.

"Pikachu, Quick Attack!" Ash commanded.

Pikachu darted forward, striking Pinsir swiftly. However, the determined Pinsir retaliated, trapping Pikachu in its powerful horns before slamming its pincers into the ground. Before Ash or Serena could react, a Rock Tomb materialized around them, sealing both Pikachu and Ash inside.

"Ash! Pikachu!" Serena called, eyes wide with concern. She quickly assessed the situation. "Ash, maybe Pikachu could try using electricity to weaken the rocks?"

Ash nodded, shouting through the small opening. "Pikachu, use Electroweb to create some space and add some force!"

Pikachu summoned a sticky web of electricity, pressing it against the rocks and forcing cracks to form. With a final push, Pikachu's Electroweb helped break the Rock Tomb, and Ash and Pikachu leapt out, free once more.

Ash looked at Pinsir, his expression determined. "Pinsir, you're tough! But we're not giving up. Pikachu, let's end this with Iron Tail!"

Pikachu's tail glowed as he swung it forward, delivering a powerful strike that knocked Pinsir off balance.

Ash took his chance, throwing a Poké Ball. It wobbled a few times before finally clicking shut.

"Yes!" Ash cheered, holding up the Poké Ball triumphantly. Serena joined him, smiling with relief.
