Till I See Her Again

It was finally time after 3 months of preparation

Hard work

Hours of time

It was the finale, the grand exit, the moment they where all waiting for they would be playing...

 "capture the flag?!" Sophie asked startled "It's not in the way your imagining" Dow explained, well that's what Sophie assumed she said it was a bit difficult to hear over the roar of the cafeteria  "We have to actually capture the flag." Will said "Excuse me?" Sophie tried to understand, Jay decided to help her out "there are four baskets." "four teams, one for each" Sophie chipped in "Exactly, and there are four flags, again one for each." Jay continued "Where are you going with this?" Sophie asked confused "The flags get hidden and nobody knows where they are hidden, they also have legs so they can ru-" He tried to finish but instead got interrupted by Sophie "IT HAS LEGS?!" Jay stayed patient "actually gnomes have the flag they run around with it." Sophie was now starting to get it. "Let's run through our plan one more time." 

As they where walking to their dormroom trying to explain to Sophie that the games can be anything and you get to find out the night before, for that extra adrenaline, of course, they heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" Jay called. The door opened and out came Mr. Forkle "You kids getting ready for the games tommorow?" "Yes sir." Dow replied "Good, Captain could I have a word with you?" "Um okay Mr. Forkle." she repied, she was still getting used to calling him sir, she stood up from the couch and followed Sophie to her bedroom.

"Why did you never tell me about this place?" Sophie asked him "It wasn't neccesary." it wasn't really the answer she was looking for but before she could push him further Mr. Forkle said "Happy 17th Birthday by the way Miss Foster." "Oh uh I didn't really know I turned 17 today." she said surprised "Since your older now I have a desition for you to make." "And that is?" she promted "Would you like me to trigger all your hidden abilities?" "It might distract team Finx." "Are you allowed to have favourites?" she was responded with a smile "So what do you say?" he asked "How many?" she wanted to know "four" he replied "Four!" she said startled "Yes, Hydrokinetic, Guster, Mesmer-" "A Mesmer!" She interuppted "Yes and please Sophie stop being disrespectfull, we aren't in the Lost Cities anymore and its yes sir okay." she waited for her to agree before continueing "and Vanisher." "Okay... are you going to like, trigger it now or...?" she asked skeptically a "I think it's best if we do it as soon as possible." he replied "But I have the games tommorow and I have to stratigize." she said back "I know, I just came here to tell you, we can trigger them the day after tommorow, and for the record I also came here with an actual birthday gift." he told her.

Turning around he took a small brown package out of his pocket and sat on her bed, she followed sitting next to him while he put the parcel on her lap. "Open it." he told her, obediently she opened the package "Its a ring." she said a bit dissapointed "Not just any ring stand up." she stood "Now imagine something, anything  in the entire world." Now don't ask her why but for some reason her first thaught was a baseball cap, as the image was forming into her mind the golden ring turned into a baseball cap. "Wha- How?" she stuttered "The ring can turn into any object you wish for it to become, but one thing that will never change with it is" he turned the hat over showing the inside, witch had a message ingraved in it There is always a choice it wasn't anything grand or dramatic it but that didn't matter it was special in its own ubserd way "Thank you." she turned and hugged him tight letting only few tears slip. "Come captain  your team is waiting." he said after a long pause "yeah." she said and walked out.
