Quietly I headed to sit down on the couch in the front corner. Soon after Copia rushed into the room. "I'm sorry I'm late." Copia said, getting settled. That made me laugh a bit, since just like Copia, Terzo was always late.
"Isla. You came. I'm happy." Copia smiled. I gave him a slight smile back. I took a more comfortable position on the couch and listened. All of them have made a lot of progress, but I think they still have a long way to go. They were working with Spillways today and all of them were practicing separately first. I couldn't help but notice that Phantom was struggling with a specific part of the song. I tried to just sit there and let him figure it out himself, but I wanted to help him. I quietly stood up from my seat, trying not to disturb anyone. I stopped in front of Phantom and grabbed a chair and my guitar.
"Do you mind if I help?" I said with a shy smile. "Please. I just can't get it." He sighed. I connected my guitar to an amp and placed the guitar comfortably on my lap. "What do you think is the hardest thing about it?" I asked. "I don't even know. I just don't get it." He said. "Play it with me, but let's go slowly." I said. Both of us played the notes at a slow pace. "Wait, how did you put your fingers. Show me again." Phantom said. "Like this." I said, showing him again. "You're a genius. Why didn't I figure that out." He laughed. "Well, now you do." I smiled. "Can you play the part by yourself once. In the right rhythm?" Phantom asked. "Sure why not." I smiled, starting to feel a bit more relaxed around them.I played the part with ease. I closed my eyes and just let my fingers dance along the fretboard. As I finished I let out a deep breath, missing the feeling of playing on stage. "Wow, that was really really good." Aurora exclaimed. I opened my eyes only to find everyone in the room staring at me. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." I said, quickly placing my guitar back to its stand. "What are you talking about? That was amazing." Cumulus breathed out. "I didn't want to disturb any of you. I just wanted to help." I answered and headed back towards the couch. "Of course you can help. I'm sure every help they can get is appreciated." Copia smiled. "At least some of them do." Sodo said proudly.
I followed the rest of the practice from the couch, but it made me happy to see the progress Phantom had with the song. Teaching was actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be.
The practice ended and everyone headed their way. As I was leaving the room, Copia called me. I turned around and walked a bit further to him. "Swiss texted me earlier about the door. It should be fixed now." Copia smiled. "I appreciate it, really." I answered and continued my way out of the room. I shut the door after me and turned around the corner.
Suddenly I could feel someone take a tight grip from my wrist and pull me to the other direction. I almost lost my balance from the force of the pull. "Oww." I whined and tried to see who it was. I only had to see a glimpse of that blonde hair to know who was dragging me.
"Sister, let me go." I whined. She was dragging me along the hallway, further from our rooms. "I've had enough of you." She growled. "Where are you taking me?" I cried out. My wrist was aching from the way she kept squeezing and twisting it. I tried to stop, not allowing her to drag me anymore. "Let go of me!" I yelled and pulled my hand out of her grip. "You fucking bitch. You went and told Copia about your pathetic lies!" Sister screamed. "It's not a lie!" I answered. "Stay away from Copia. Stay away from the ghouls. You are only bad news." Sister said with a threatening voice. I was just about to talk back to her, but I was stopped by a hard slap on my cheek. "I saw you in the band room. Trying to show off to Copia's ghouls. You are not allowed to go there and you know that." She yelled. "Yes I can." I answered, lifting my hand to my sore cheek. "Who told you that you could go, huh? Copia? Maybe that Swiss ghoul?" She said jokingly. I just nodded. "They know nothing. I will be moving that ghoul out of your room as fast as possible. You are not allowed to see them, do you understand?" She said, moving her face only inches away from mine. "They don't even like you, you know? They just pity you. That's why they act like they want something to do with you." She growled.
"I don't want to be alone." I said, tears filling my eyes. "You ghoul shouldn't even be here. Why wouldn't you just do everyone a favor." She said, her voice full of anger. "Wh-What?" I asked, understanding what she meant, but refusing to believe it. "You know what I mean." She said. "I know you've thought about it. Why not just do it." She said. I couldn't answer. I couldn't believe that she would say that. I know she hates me, but this much. I stared at her, my mouth slightly open.
Suddenly I heard footsteps from the other end of the hallway. Sister turned to look, but I couldn't. I was frozen. "Get going ghoul. There's nothing for you." Sister said grumpily. Now that she had her attention elsewhere, I ran. I ran past her, not looking back. I could hear her screaming after me, but I couldn't make up what she was saying. I ran as fast as I could. I was out of breath, but I just needed to get away. I tried to wipe away the tears that were streaming down my face, but it was worthless as new tears kept replacing the old ones.
Finally I got to my door, I swung it open and slammed it closed as soon as I got in. Out of habit, I ran to the bathroom, locking the door after me. Maybe I should just do it, I'm worthless anyway. I pulled open my drawer where I kept my blade. I scattered through the whole drawer, but it wasn't there. That's when I lost it. I collapsed on the floor on my knees and screamed and cried. "Fuck." I screamed. I felt numb. I moved under the shower and turned on the water, not caring a single bit that my clothes would get wet. I curled up on the floor under the water and lowered my head to my knees.
My body was shaking as I tried to breathe. I squeezed my knees tighter, bringing them closer to my chest. Why am I still here? They don't want me here, why would I stay? Tears kept streaming, mixing with the water. What if I just stopped breathing? It would be peaceful, I think?
