Molly was fussing over Hamish. "Oh, love, you look so handsome for your first date," she said beaming. "I know, I know, but could you not mention that fact to Abby?" Hamish said.
"So she doesn't know that you've never been out with a girl?" Sherlock said from the couch. He was scrolling through his phone with Hamish's baby sister, Amelia, asleep on his chest. "Sherlock, be nice," Molly said.
Sherlock didn't say anything else. "I better go if I want to pick Abby up on time and get our dinner reservations," Hamish said. Molly nodded and hugged him before heading out the door.
Hamish drove to the Watson's house. He was terrified the whole time. Ever since John saw Hamish and Abby kissing, he acted like he wanted to murder Hamish. John was as protective as father's got over his only daughter.
He walked up and opened the door. Mary opened the door and smiled. "Hello, Mish," she said. "Abby's still getting ready." Mary turned her head and yelled up to her daughter. "Abigail! Hamish is here!"
"Okay," Abby yelled back down. "Be right there."
Mary invited Hamish inside. He sat down on their cream colored couch. Hamish was so nervous about what John was going to say he was sweating bullets.
John walked out and sat across from Hamish. "Hello," he said. "Hamish, let's talk for a moment." Hamish barely nodded before he started to talk again. "When you take out my daughter, you will respect her. She's had bad experiences with boys, and I hope that you won't be the same."
"Of course I will," Hamish said. "I-"  he started to say, but he was cut off by Abby walking down the stairs.  Even though she tried to put makeup over it, the bruise on her cheek from where Alex hit her was still visible. Hamish made fists. It still made him mad even if it was almost a week ago.
Hamish jumped up. "Ready to go?" He asked, straightening out his button up shirt. Abby nodded and took his arm. They went off after saying bye to John and Mary.
Hamish got on the drivers side and Abby in the passengers seat. "I hope you're hungry," Hamish said as he pulled on the road. Abby nodded again. "You're quiet," Hamish said looking over.
"Was that your first kiss?" Abby asked quickly. Hamish was about to answer when she went on. "I'm sorry for asking, but I've just never seen you with any other girls and I was just wondering."
Hamish nodded. "Uh, yeah. Sorry, I'm probably a terrible kisser-"
"No! It's not that," Abby said. She sighed. "Hamish, have you ever been out with a girl?"
Slowly Hamish shook his head. "No," he muttered.
Abby grabbed his arm and leaned on his shoulder. "It's okay," she said.
They pulled into the restraunt. "Woah," Abby said. "This place is really fancy. I feel a little underdressed-"
"You're beautiful," Hamish said quickly. Abby grinned and him and took his hand. "You look dapper as well." Hamish raised his eyebrows. "Sorry, that was weird," Abby said. Hamish chuckled as he got out to open the door for her. They went inside and sat down.
"I don't even know what to order," Abby said. "The salads are good," Hamish said. "I-I don't really know what you'd like though." Abby smiled at him and giggled. "Don't be so nervous, Mish. It's just a date."

After they ate, Hamish took Abby to a park. They laid out under the stars and Abby sighed. "It's beautiful," she said. Hamish nodded. "You are beautiful, aren't you?" He said. Abby laughed. "I'm serious, you're beautiful," he said. Hamish hesitated for a moment before going in for a kiss. Abby kissed him back, giggling.
"This isn't weird? Making out in a public park?" Hamish asked, pulling back. Abby shrugged. "We could go back to my house. My parents aren't home."
Hamish's heart skipped a beat. "O-okay. If you're okay with it."
They drove home holding hands and got to Abbys flat. She led him upstairs to her room. "Come here," Abby said sitting on her fluffy white bed. Hamish went and sat by her. They were making out aggressively.
"You don't have to be so shy," Abby said. "I'm your girlfriend, right?" Hamish went red. "R-right," he stammered. Abby took his hands and put them up the back of her shirt.
That's about the time John came home.
"WHAT IS GOING ON?!" He roared. Hamish jumped away from Abby. They hadn't heard the car pull up or the door open.
"Daddy, it's not what it looks like," Abby said. "We-We were just-"
John sighed. "I don't care," he said through gritted teeth. "Hamish, I think you should leave."
Hamish nodded. "Y-yes sir," he said scampering out.
