Chapter 3: Darkness...

Unknown Dimension - Secret Base

Yuya slowly opened his eyes, waking up from his sleep. With a yawn and a stretch of his arms, he sat up on the makeshift bed that was made. He rubbed his eyes as he looked around the room. 

His friends that were sleeping in the same room were gone, most likely having woken up before he had. 

Yuya gazed to his right, seeing his duel disk. He stood up, popping his back. 

He walked over and grabbed his duel disk, strapping it to his arm. 

A card in his deck glowed, it popping out. Yuya took the card out, revealing Honest. 

The spiritual state of Honest manifested before him. 

"Are you feeling better now?" Honest nodded, smiling. 

"Yes, your body was quite adequate with housing souls, better then I realized. I should be back to my full form soon," Honest stared at his hands, clenching and unclenching them. His body was slowly regaining its strength. 

"That's good. I put you in my deck, but I can leave you out if you like," Yuya commented on how he had planned to use Honest in his deck. 

"It would be an honor to fight on your side. I owe you a great debt for saving my life," Honest pledged his loyalty to Yuya in thanks for saving his life. 

The opening of the door ended their conversation, Honest vanishing from view. 

"Hey Yuya," Johan walked into the room, greeting Yuya when he saw him. 

"We were gonna see if you were awake or not," Yuya raised a brow. 

"We?" Just when those came from his mouth, something snatched onto his leg. 

He looked down and saw a tiny cat monster hugging his leg. 

"What the hell is that!?" Yugo floated down to look at the cat monster. 

"Ah! Ruby! You can't just do that to someone!" Johan ran over, quickly removed his feline from Yuya's leg. 

"Next time ask if you want to hug someone," The strange cat made noise, which made Johan sigh. 

"Sorry Yuya. Ruby's a bit friendly with people," Yuya smiled warmly. 

"It's fine Johan. Ruby's cute too," Yuya pet Ruby's head which made her purr. 

"Looks like you have a companion as well," Yugo's eyes widened as Johan was staring directly at him. 

"You can see him?" Yuya was surprised as well, not expecting Johan to be able to Yugo at all. No one else could. 

"I've had the strange ability to see spirits when I was a child. The Gem Beasts had spirits within their cards due to the rare type of gems that were used to make them. My Sensei gave them to me while I was young. We've been friends ever since," Ruby nuzzled into Johan's cheek making him laugh softly. 

"Interesting. This human can see spirits of monsters... this may be the reason why Yubel had taken control over him," Zarc wondered if Johan's unique abilities may have been the reason Yubel took over his body. 

"Johan? Is he awake?" Tyranno picked into the room, seeing Johan and Yuya conversing. 

"C'mon Guys! Food's going away quickly!" Tyranno quickly left the room, going to get food for himself. 

"Let's join em shall we?" Yuya chuckled and the two left the room. Planning to get some grub.
