Chapter 9: Confidence Restored! Yuya vs Yubel!

Unknown Dimension - White Sands

Yuya stood up from the ground, staring at where Johan's body once laid. 

"Johan..." Yuya wiped the tears from his eyes. 

"Promise Me..." Yuya recalled his friend's final words. 

He stared at the deck, it above the sand. 

Not a single card missing or misplaced. 

He shut his eyes, letting out a breath of sorrow. 

"I'm... all alone..." Yuya realized how peaceful it was. Not hearing anything at all. 

"You are never alone," Yuya's eyes shot wide open.

He realized he was in a place of familiarity. 

He was within his mindscape.

Yuya's Mindscape

Yuya turned around. Yugo stood behind him along with someone else... 

"Yuto!" Yuya shouted in shock, now seeing him for the first time in his mindscape. 

"It's good to see you too," Yuto smiled softly, happy to see Yuya as well. 

"Well it's good to see you to brat!" Yuya resisted a chuckle at Zarc's announcement. 

He kind of missed his asshole attitude. 

Yuya's expression however became gloomy, his eyes dulling. 

"I'm... so sorry for what I did to you guys," Yuya bowed to them. "How I cornered you all in my mind. How I pushed you all away for the darkness that enveloped my soul. I can only beg for your forgiveness," Yuya shut his eyes as tears slowly came down his face.

 "Yuya..." Yuya felt a hand on his shoulder. 

He looked up seeing Yugo having his hand on his shoulder. 

"It's... alright," Yuya gasped in shock as Yuto also walked up to them. 

"I didn't understand why you became the Supreme King. But I do now. What happened to you was horrible, no human being should go through something like that," Yuto placed a hand on Yuya's other shoulder.

"Darkness enveloped your soul at your weakest moment. That deck and Super Fusion didn't help either. Neither of us blame you for what happened cause we would've fallen under the same influence in your circumstances," Yuya couldn't help but shed tears at his now closest friends heartfelt words. 

"Thank you... so very much," Yuya continued to rub the tears from his eyes as he was crying. This time with tears of joy. 

"You're such a crybaby!" Zarc loomed down on the three, pointing out how often Yuya has cried. 

"Shut your mouth ya Bastard!" Yugo floated upwards, anger across his face. 

The two quickly began to bicker amongst themselves, Yuto sighing in annoyance. 

"Don't those two ever stop?" He had to deal with their constant bickering while being stuck with them in Yuya's mind. 

It really got on his nerves.

"No," Yuya laughed a little as this was a normal part of his past life. 

"I am curious though..." Yuto looked at his Standard Counterpart. 

"Where did you guys hide? I couldn't find you anywhere," This was a question Yuya was in turmoil with when he had absorbed Yuto. 

Where were they in his mind?
