Chapter 18: Lost in a Park

Mari:  *A couple of days later*

After the crazy events that occurred and David and my marriage, we needed new jobs and needed them now. We used our savings and got a refund from the wedding so we can stand on our feet.

David, me, and the others (Anthony, Ian, Josh) decided to still work together. We decided on opening up a photography business and it became super successful. We were on the head of the newspaper, on TV, and got many opportunities and jobs.

"Hey Josh, can you get lens 43 please? And hurry, we're gonna be late!" I heard David scream from below.

David really loved this job and was the boss. He knew a lot about cameras and lens and lighting and all that good stuff.

"On my way!" I heard Josh run down the stairs and fall. The guys were all laughing.

"Mari! What's taking so long?" Ian screamed.

"Almost done!"

I was in the bathroom. But I wasn't 'using' the bathroom.

Positive. I'm pregnant.

I thought of when to tell David and heard more screams coming from downstairs. Now was don't a good time.

I ran down the stair and rushed to meet them.

"Finally lets go!" Ian said carrying a bag with cameras. Anthony and Josh followed out the door.

David ran to me, a bag in his right hand.

"Are you ok, babe?" He asked looking at me.

"I'm fine. Just had to finish with that camera order!" I said a suspicious.

He held my hand with his free one and we went to the job location.

*10 mins later*

We got to the park. A very nice park. We were to take pictures of gorgeous views for a company with a weird name: Parks, Flowers, and Beyond.

We found a spot next to a stream with a shade and flowers and set up some things there.

"Ian and Anthony, start taking pictures. Josh can you get the lighting? And Mari I need to talk to you." David commanded.

I went to him to talk.

"What's wrong?" His voice was calm now.

I should tell him now.

I looked at him. Beautiful as ever. " I'm pregnant." I said with a grin.

He hugged me tight. "YEEAA! I'm going to be a father! You're going to be a mother!" He stated some obvious things.

We let go. He was smiling and I was too. We just had to be the happiest people on the planet.

*An hour later*

We didn't keep track of the time. We also didn't know they closed 15 mins ago. This park was special. It had a place for kids, a discovery center and some pretty rare and endangered flowers. So it wasn't open to the public, you had to pay to get in.

"Finally, the last location!" Anthony screamed.

We had 2 golf cart so we could carry our stuff in an our selves.

We set up the equipment and took pictures. Soon we saw a sunset and definitely took pictures. And out of nowhere it became dark; super dark.

"I think we might have state here to long." Josh commented.

"Yeah guys, let's go." I responded.

We all helped put away our stuff into a near by, huge, golf cart. We wouldn't want to lose track of each other in the dark and in a place we never been to before.

We hoped in, Ian driving, Josh siting next to him. Anthony behind them and David and I behind Anthony. Each of us were holding a bag besides Ian.

I became pitch black and I looked at the time.

10:46

"How long have we been here?" I whispered to myself.

We sat there in silence and it was super hard to see. There was no lights, except the one from the cart.

It felt like forever and seemed as if we were nowhere near the exit.

"Ian do you know what you're doing?" Josh asked.

" I would, if a certain someone would have a gotten a map when I told them to." He looked back at Anthony.

He was ignoring him since we was on his phone, texting his girlfriend.

I grabbed Davids hand. I looked at him. He smiled and had a look of confidence and assurance. I laid my head on his shoulder, resting my eyes.

*A minute later*

The cart was going slower. And I lifted my head from Davids shoulder.

"Why are you slowing down?" David asked.

" I think we may be out of gas." Ian responded.

Great.

We all hopped in and Josh stepped on a map of the park.

"Hey I found a map!" Josh said.

Ian took the map, probably because he felt like he let us down. He led the way and we followed.

I held Davids hand. I didn't want to lose him. Anthony pulled out a flashlight we brought and turned it on.

10:59

I yawned and was super tired and hungry and thirsty and a bunch of other things.

After what seemed like a decade we found another cart and hoped on hoping to get out. We all heard a loud thumping sound and got super scared. It stopped and we ignored not bringing it up. But it concerned me.

*1 hour later*

"WHY ARE WE STILL HERE?" I thought in my head feeling like I said it out loud.

"Josh, this is a map of Disney World!" Ian finally realized.

"Oops..."

Great.

"I give up guys, this place is way to big, I think we need a plan B!" Ian said still driving.

"What would that plan B be?" Anthony, laughing at what he said.

We ran into the discovery center building. It was small, one story and had some pretty cool stuff to check out.

"We stay the night." Ian said. I wasn't a dumb idea, and it also wasn't fun.

We got out an the doors were unlocked and the lights were functional. We each headed to a room to explore.

Ian found some snacks in the break room(for the workers), I found unused blankets to cover up attractions when not used, David found a warm room and Josh and Anthony didn't find shit.

We all gathered in the warm room and ate snacks and talked about random funny stuff. We all finished eating and went to bed.

David slept right next to me and kissed me before we went to bed.
