"Too soon?"

Onyx'foot sat with Sunflower near the entrance. The wind coming from the seas rumbled, the rain hitting the pebbled ground softly. The sand turning dense as Sunflower stepped forward. "Yeah." He said, his tone showing sadness. "I have to go. My family is waiting for me. I'll have a lot of explaining to do."

The rain continued to fall; the awkward silence left Onyx'foot feeling lost. He's sure that Ghost'paw would also feel the very same. The flower necklaces that he got from the festival, bristled his fur. An idea sparked his mind and lowered his head to tug the necklace off of him. Sunflower noticed this and began to purr. "What are you doing?" He asked. Onyx'foot dragged his unsheathed claws to get the necklaces off. He set it on the ground and looked at the black tom. "This is for you."

Sunflower looked at him. He was surprised. "Really? For me?"

Onyx'foot nodded, moving the necklace using his snout, towards the black tom. "You'll remember this." He added. "Please."

This will possibly be the last time that he'll be outside, in the grass, and in the wild, it almost made him tear up. He didn't want to reveal that he was actually emotional about it, he turns his head, and reluctantly dragged the necklace towards him. "Thank you." He said, pleased of the flowers that were given. It was the color of vibrant pink, the vines wrapped around them evenly to make a proper necklace. The vines were thick enough to keep the flowers from physical contact. His red collar was still present, though it looked like it was going to tear off.

Onyx'foot stood up and nuzzled his head against Sunflower's. "Just be careful out there, alright? These flowers are Oleander, the poison will protect you."

Sunflower carefully shifted his head under the other side of the necklace that is bare from the flowers. It was safely put on his neck; he gave a look at Onyx'foot one last time. It was bittersweet that he had to go. But there was no choice. He had the soft life waiting for him. He was bound to be a Softpaw after all.

"Goodbye." Onyx'foot whispered, watching the tom leave as the hanging vines dragged all over his backside.

"Goodbye." Sunflower muttered, the cold front hitting his face. He sprung from the cave and ran off with his slender legs.

Even if he felt unworthy to the wild, he had taken on some traits that were rare back home. His lanky legs were capable of running across the clearing of BlazeClan territory, taking away the attention of other warriors who had saw him. And the fish? It wasn't as bad as what his father had described. He could imagine wondrous things if he did choose to live in the territories. And what name he would have? Black'feather? Flame'gaze? Quick'foot?.. maybe the last one was quite silly.

Even with those names, it didn't really fit him. He was told that he looked like a cat who was a deputy before Otter'star took place. Crow'stalk. The name sounded almost menacing when he thought about it. He stopped running and began to trot under the bushy, thick trees that protected him from the drizzling rain. The name was nearly mesmerizing when he mouthed it in a whisper, but there was something missing. Why would he wanted to be named after someone who died? It was creepy just from the thought of it, but he also wouldn't want to live in someone's shadow.

Every warrior had to be unique, it wasn't just a name for their skills, but it was also an identity, a character. He wouldn't want to be a cat whose whole life is to be someone who they can't reach.

For what it felt like hours, he could feel the dread that caused his fur to stand up. A large two-leg nest set above the ledge. The silhouette of the house that had been rained on. He didn't want to go back; he could hear the voice of his father berating him. But he was more so afraid of his mother more when he sees her disappointed look. He avoided the tears and kept going.
