The curly haired boy stood on the side of the road, waiting for the brunette to arrive. He scratched at his wrist nervously, anxious to tell his mates his secret. When the brunette finally did he had brought along another one of his mates, Niall. Reluctantly, the clumsy boy squirmed into the backseat.
"How are you Harry?" Liam speaks in a soft tone.
"Uhm. I've been better, how are you guys?" He moved the mat of chestnut curls across his forehead.
"I'm good!" The Irishman smiles. Niall was always such a happy fellow, and always seemed to cheer Harry up.
"I'm alright mate, we're gonna head to your house if that's alright?" Harry nods at the driver. As the two boys up-front gushed about finally being in secondary school, curly pulled on the sleeves of his sweater. Liam helped him out of the red car once they arrive, and the three boys climbed up to his bedroom.
"Are you alright? You sounded a sad over the phone," Niall puts a hand on his shoulder. These two boys have been Harry's best friends for as long as he could remember. They have helped him through his highs and lows, so why was it so hard to tell them this simple problem?
"Well, uh, I don't know what's wrong with me." He teared up. Liam closed the door.
"What do you mean? Are you ill?" Liam questions him. The boy shakes his head and lays his face in his large palms.
"Then what is it? You can tell us anything you know," Niall comforts. Harry goes quiet for a few moments, thinking about if he should give an explanation.
"I-I'm-I," He stuttered. His companions waited eagerly for the rest of the sentence. "I like someone."
"Why is that so bad? Who is it!" Niall smiled. The lump in Harry's throat grew larger.
The red-eyed child looked up, "I-It's a boy."
The brunette and the blonde gave each other and glance before latching onto the curly haired boy. They held him as he wailed. They assured him that there was nothing wrong liking a boy, and in fact they were proud of him to admit it. The lads all held each other until they heard banging at the door.
"Harry? Are you okay? Why do I hear crying?" His mother, Anne, called.
"Mum, you can come in. It's okay," His voice scratched his throat as he spoke. Anne ran into the room and glanced at the boys.
She immediately knew what happened, "Oh Harry..."
"Anne, I assure you that we won't let anything happen to Harry. We will always support him and keep him by our side," Liam says in a quick, but stern tone. Anne smiles at the long-term friend of her son, wiping tears from her eyes. Niall agreed with Liam's proclamation, which made curly unbelievably happy.
"I'll go make you boys dinner alright? I'm making lasagna," The three musketeers nod. Once they calmed Harry down and let go of his best mates, the boys started talking like usual.
"So Styles," The Irish boy smirked, "Tell us about this boy you like."
He raised a brow, "You want to know?"
His friends nodded in response, which made Harry smile. He was already feeling better with the fact that he was... well he decided not gay but bi-sexual. Harry has had feeling for girls before so he only assumed that meant he liked both. He described the crush as a soft kitten, that he was tiny and appears soft but playful. Also that everyone loved him. He said he had radiant blue eyes, and his smile made his heart beat really fast. Harry said that the boy had beautiful brown hair that was ever so perfectly placed across his forehead, and wasn't curly like his. And unlike him the boy was athletic, excelling in football. His short, thick thighs made him shiver and his toned arms had beautiful tattoos on them.
"Wait Harry... Are you talking about Louis Tomlinson?" Liam grinned. Harry opened his mouth to respond, but nothing but a weird noise came out.
"You know he's bi-sexual too, right? Maybe you'll have a chance with him!" Niall cheered for his mate. Harry showed his dimples at the thought of the two boys holding hands, or even kissing. But that faded away as reality hit him.
"No he wouldn't. He's beautiful, sun-kissed, and popular, and I'm just... well me." Harry frowns.
Liam stands, "Well, we have all talked been discussing improving our appearances, so why don't we do it?" Harry gives a weary look. "Think of it like this Harry, your not doing it for anyone but yourself. We know you don't believe in changing for others," The brunette persuades.
Harry looks up at the two scrawny boys, could he really fix all the stuff they've spoken about? He pushes his long hair off his pale skin as he thinks. Maybe this would be a good thing for him.
"Alright," He finally agrees.
"Yeah Harry!" Niall smiles.
"Okay mate! First off, let's do something about that hair..."
The trio were interrupted by Anne exclaiming it was dinner. They explained through excitement what they had planned for this summer while shoveling down their pasta. The hard-working mother was excited for her son, and extremely proud. She could see from the look on his eyes that he was relieved, and for the first time in forever... genuinely happy.
