Rick and I stroll along, on our way back to my house. The sky was turning from blue to a soft baby pink, with streaks of purple dashing across it. We were giggling about some part of the movie. Rick was re-enacting a funny part of the movie and I was throwing gummy worms at him.
He finishes his pantomime and returns to my side. He took my hand and stole a gummy worm from the bag I was holding.
I smirk and lean into him, saying, "That was a lot of fun... Thanks for taking me." "No problem," he replies, looking down at me and smiling.
I return the smile, then stop and pull him down to my face for a kiss.
"Damn it," I say when we break apart, "Why do you have to be so tall?"
"Why do you have to be so short?" he asks slyly.
I punch him. "Shut up! I may be little, but I will kick your ass!" I say defensively.
"Is that so?" he replies, grinning at me evilly. Then, in one fell swoop, he wraps one arm around my waist and another under my knees and picks me up.
I squeal in surprise. "Rick! Put me down!" In a panic, I throw my arms around his neck.
"Okay, you say put me down, yet you hang onto me. You're sending me mixed signals, love." Rick says.
I stick my tongue out at him, but my stomach had dissolved into butterflies when he called me 'love'.
He laughs, then begins walking. I relax into his chest and close my eyes. "All right," he says, "I'll take that as 'Don't put me down'."
"Just tell me when your arms get tired," I mumble. I suddenly felt extremely weary.
He chuckles softly. "No problem. You're actually pretty light."
I smile lazily. "Cool," I murmur, then yawn.
"Aww," Rick coos, "Is Colleenie-poo getting sleepy?"
Slowly, I lift my hand and place it over his mouth. "Shhhhh..." I reply.
He smirks. I let my hand fall back into my lap and press my face against his strong chest. I feel him press his lips to my forehead, and consciousness finally slips away from me.

I stroll along, trying to even out my pace so I wouldn't jostle Colleen around too much. Adjusting my hold on her, I look down into her sleeping face. God, she was beautiful. It seemed to me that every element to her was perfect; her delicate hands, her lovely lips, her big, beautiful eyes.
Her long eyelashes flutter gently against her rosy cheeks. I smile. She was dreaming.
I only hope I wasn't.
Looking up into the sky, I thank Whoever was up there for this day and this gorgeous girl sleeping in my arms.
Finally, I look back to the road ahead of me. Her house was only two blocks away now. I frown, trying to remember what her curfew was. Corey had told me when she had gone to get her jacket... Was it eleven? No, it must have been earlier. I speed up a little, wanting to be there quickly, just in case it was earlier than eleven. Colleen stirs a bit, but I keep up the pace.
Quickly crossing to the next sidewalk, I glance around. The surrounding houses' lights were going out, and I wonder what time it was.
Three houses away...
Two...
I then find myself on the porch, with Colleen still in my arms. I look down at her, then gently nudge her. "Colleen. Wake up, love, we're here..."
She slowly wakes up, her blue eyes appearing under her lashes. She yawns, covering her mouth with a hand, then murmurs, "Damn. That was quick..." She looks up at me and smiles. "But very, very nice."
I smile back at her, my heart speeding up like it always does when she smiles. Or kisses me.
Or is even around me.
(It's a normal thing nowadays.)
I gently set her down, and she turns to looks up at me. "That was really fun," she says, slipping her arms around my waist.
"Good," I say, gently cupping her small face with my hands and leaning down to kiss her.
She presses her lips to mine, and my already skipping heart skips even more. She gently pulls away, smiles at me, then turns to the door. "Good night, Rick," she says, opening the door.
"Good night," I reply.
She goes inside and shuts the door gently.
I turn toward the sidewalk and pull out my phone. 9:56. I exhale in relief. I start down the steps and to the sidewalk.
*Colleen's P.O.V*
I lean against the door, smiling foolishly. My cheeks were burning, as were my ears, with embarrassed pleasure.
Hearing footsteps, I quickly straighten up.
"Colleen? You home?" It was Chris, and he was coming down the stairs.
"Yeah, it's me, Chris," I reply, coming to the foot of the stairs and looking up. Chris was on the fifth step and was peering down at me. He pulls out his phone and clicks it on. "Well then. He dropped you off early..." he says.
"Good." Corey suddenly appears next to Chris. He comes down the stairs and pulls me into a hug. "Welcome home, Col. How was the movie?"
I hug him in return and answer, "Really funny. I think Shawn would have liked it."
I feel Corey nod. "Cool. Well, it's almost ten... I suggest going to bed." he suggests.
Chris and I nod in agreement. We all head up the stairs, and Corey and Chris head off to their separate rooms. I close my bedroom door behind me, then change into pajamas, take off my makeup, let down my hair, and climb into bed.
As I lie there, I couldn't help but imagine Rick next to me, holding me in his arms... I fall asleep with a little smile on my face and a blush on my cheeks.
