Those were the only statements going through her mind. Running was the only option for her to survive, the only logical option. The person she saw-no, the thing she saw was not human, at least, not anymore.
She had heard a special flower was blooming upon sunrise. She was staying in the area for the night, though she would have never expected to be running for her life. It didn't help that everything was dark but her own hair, bright under the moon.
Just when her legs felt weak, a small light glimmered through the darkness straight at the monster. Three women, whom she had known before this situation, came out with kunai knives in their hands. A man, who was the tallest person she had ever seen, came after them and slayed the monster in a single second.
Seeing them clearly, anyone could tell that they were different from everyone else in the village. From their clothes, to their personalities.
Seeing the man's back, she could read the kanji on the uniform-like he was wearing. "Destroy". He had huge weapons that connected with a single chain. The weapons themselves had kanji on them. "Destroyer of Demons".
Demons...a mythical creature, or a religious belief. Something she never believed, even when some elders had spoken of them.
Were they the Demon Slayers that the elders spoke about?
