'Another unexciting day of just selling flowers', Yumi had thought to herself. Although most of her customers were the elderly, who had helped raise her and just wanted to support her business. This flower shop was really the only thing her father gave her after he had passed away.
Small children came every other day, just to give her flowers for her to sell. Although, to her, they were worthless, she still gave them a smile and accepted them. She herself was a child, or so the elders say. She was only 14 years old after all.
Currently, through the children, she had heard some outsiders came, three women and one man. They had said they looked unique. Though she had no room to talk. Everyone in her small village had black hair, brown sometimes, dark brown eyes or black eyes. She, on the other hand, had bright pink hair and yellow eyes. She was truly the outsider of this village that she called her home.
Just then, while sitting outside her little shop, she saw the three women outsiders. Everyone knew each other in the village, since it was so small, it was easy to know who was and who wasn't from their village. The three women she saw, but not the man. Maybe he had stayed behind somewhere, attending important business.
Yumi had seen that one of them had dropped a scroll-like object. She had picked it up and by mistake opened it. Being a bit curious, she read the inside. It was about the recently missing people from her village.
People had been going missing for a while now. Many of the village residents say the first disappearance was the young girl of the Hayashi family. Then, many other children, sometimes adolescents, had gone missing. Some men had tried to guard during the night, but someone always ended up missing.
As she read the scroll, she could hear the women coming back. One of them was crying, another was scolding the crier harshly, and the last one was trying to calm them both down.
She walked up to them. "Excuse me."
All three stopped.
"You dropped this." Yumi handed them the scroll, just how it was.
"THANK YOU!" "Thank you very much." Thanks kid." They all said simultaneously and bowed gratefully.
"You're welcome." Yumi copied them, bowing the same length. "If you ever need me, please come visit the only flower shop in the village."
From this simple interaction, everything in Yumi's life would go like a raging river.
