Chapter 4: Break Up

The group looks on with emotional pity for the boy in front of them. It would be hard for them to imagine, let alone live how Clyde did for so long with a monster such as Kenny.

Lee gripped his fists in anger as he wanted to punch Kenny right there, to which he growled:

"That motherfucker...If he wasn't already dead, I'd killed him myself"

"Join the club" Stephanie agreed with the older man.

"Clyde, when did that jerk start putting you in that cellar?" Luke asked his best friend in concern.

The boy in question sighed out: "Ever since Mom died..."

"Wow...I guess I'm lucky that I opened my eyes sooner to see that I was a dick, especially with that stupid prank" Luke shamefully responded.

"Really? Out of all the pranks that you and your friends did to Clyde, you're saying that you felt different about this particular prank, how come?" Enya asked, her arms crossed and her sly smile showing at the male teenager.

"It's a little hard to explain but I'll try to make sense" Luke began to state his honesty:

"At first, I thought Clyde was just being irrational over a bloody nose. I get bloody noses at times but I never cry or scream about it"

Luke soon gazes at Clyde and continues:

"But after seeing that the bleeding wasn't stopping, I suddenly saw the sheer fear in his face and...I don't know, I guess I just realized that this was going overboard and Clyde needed help"

"So you're saying you felt what Clyde was feeling?" Lee asked the male teenager.

"Well...maybe not felt like Clyde did but I can see it the more I looked at Clyde back there. I tried to stop the others but it's like they were out of control, they didn't listen to me and from watching them laughing and shrieking in delight at Clyde's agony..." Luke responded.

The boy cringe at the memory of his former friends behaving like wild beasts at the poor boy:

"It just felt kind of scary to see the guys act the way they did, especially Bobby"

"And that's when you accepted that you are guilty for your actions, am I right?" Enya asked.

Luke looks at Clyde and replies with "Yes, That prank was just too much and I really regretted taking a part in it"

"Awwww see? You do have feelings," Stephanie playfully teased and pinched Luke's cheek.

"Alright, alright, don't rub it in my face" Luke grunted in annoyance, giving Stephanie a small shove away. "I wasn't the only one who had second thoughts on things that day too, you know"

"You're right about that" Stephanie nodded.

"Second thoughts with your boyfriend, I presumed?" Enya quizzed with interest.

"Yeah; let's just say after that day, especially what he did and how he lied to me, I've decided to put an end to my relationship with Bobby...." Stephanie explained.

A FEW HOURS AGO THAT DAY...

After the end of the school day, the bullying gang served detention with Mr. Tyler for two hours before it officially ended at 5 PM.
