i step out of the bathroom feeling refreshed, finding my girlfriend sat on our bed while playing some game. i put my dirty laundry in the laundry basket, did my skincare and got ready for bed, sneaking into the covers next to her.
"what are you playing?" i ask, trying to start up a conversation.
"hold on baby. give me a second... im playing call of duty, wanna play?" she spoke, eyebrows knitted together with her eyes on the small screen in front of her and her bottom lip between her teeth in concentration, of course, to no surprise. i hum and think about it for a minute, but i end up just saying no and shaking my head.
she sighs in defeat, and i chuckle a little before unlocking my phone and doing my own thing. when i notice she finished the round she was in, i climbed into her lap, straddling her.
"woah what are you doing??? its almost time for bed." she questioned, wide eyed.
"calm down im not doing anything i just wanna cuddle. im sleepy. and cold. and you're warm so..." i answer back in a matter-of-factly tone as i lay my head down on her chest, wrapping my arms round her waist.
she chuckles quietly, planting a gentle kiss on the top of my head and let out a soft "okay." before starting to play another round. i close my eyes but stay awake, listening to the sounds of her breathing and the occasional "fuck!" or "omg you stupid bitch" that she would mutter under her breath. soon enough the round ends, and i look up at her through my lashes. she transfers her phone to her left hand, looking down at me with a raised eyebrow.
" you okay sweetheart? you tired??" she asks, and sure enough even before i can nod, i let out a yawn. she giggles sweetly at the response, and nods reassuringly.
"okay. i'm gonna be playing for awhile more, go to sleep baby. i love you. goodnight." she spoke gently. she presses my head back onto her chest, planting multiple gentle kisses on the top of my head as i peacefully drift off into a deep slumber.
