i love you

i let a content sigh, leaning back to lay down on the soft blanket laid across the grass beneath me. she does the same. we've been dating for about a month now, but we've never really said i love you to eachother yet, nor have we ever kissed. only ever before we became a thing, we said we loved eachother platonically. i wanted to tell her so badly, but i was afraid. not afraid of her reaction, but afraid of admitting to myself that i loved someone, and that i was so in love with the beauty next to me.

i turned my head to the right to look at her, just to realise that shes already been gazing at me for god knows how long. i adored her features, especially her eyes. i loved the way they glowed and how the green in her hazel eyes became more prominent under the sunlight. and the way her silky curly hair falls in the right place, framing her face perfectly — it made her look like an angel. i noticed her admiring my features, too. it made me nervous.

her eyes flickered from mine to my lips, noticably staring at them for a long moment before looking back at me in my eyes again. i noticed her face go red, her cheeks rising as she smiled, showing me her pearly whites. i smiled back at her sweetly. i absolutely adored her gorgeous smile.

"i love you."

i stiffened almost as quickly as she did. her eyes were wide, and her bottom lip was tucked between her teeth. i dont know if she meant to say that.

"wait, fuck, im sorry — i didn't- that just slipped out i dont know why. fuck im so sor-" i cut her rambling off with a soft kiss on her lips. she stilled for a second, shocked. eventually, she melted into the kiss, and so did i. i got up off my back, rolling over and climbing over her. i wouldn't have done this usually, but we were in a secluded area where no one really knew about, so i didn't care.

eventually, i had to pull away to catch my breath. i felt giddy and warm, and i looked back at her with red cheeks and a large smile on my face. "i love you too, sweet girl." she stared at me dumb founded for a second, before her lips curved up into a grin. i cupped her face in my hands, adoring her pretty face. especially now since her cheeks were absolutely flushed.

we stayed like that for a good minute or two, admirinf each other. i plant a gentle kiss to her forehead, then her nose, then her lips, smiling at her innocently. i felt like i'd just won in life. "im glad we're on the same page."
