This girl was driving me wild. The way she groaned in frustration, like a fierce little kitten—it only made me want her attention more. As we walked to my office, I couldn't resist watching her every reaction, curious to see how far I could push her.

When we arrived, I strode to my chair, sinking into it like a king on his throne. She lingered in the doorway, eyes darting around as if deciding whether to come in or bolt. I raised an eyebrow and said, "Why are you standing there? Come in."

But she just stayed there, staring at me, silent and unblinking. Her hesitation amused me, so I leaned back with a smirk. "If you want to stare into my soul, feel free. I don't mind," I teased, inviting her closer.

She scoffed, crossing her arms and giving me a look that could melt steel, but I didn't mind. In fact, I loved it. This was her chance to size me up, but she didn't realize I was doing the same to her. This little battle of wills was just beginning

Then, slowly, she began to walk toward me, her gaze fixed on the ground, clearly avoiding eye contact with my cold, grey eyes

Then, slowly, she began to walk toward me, her gaze fixed on the ground, clearly avoiding eye contact with my cold, grey eyes. Her hesitation only intrigued me more. She was so close now, just a few feet away, when suddenly her foot caught on the edge of the carpet. In one swift motion, she stumbled forward.

Without thinking, I reached out, my hands catching her waist just in time to keep her from falling. She landed right in my arms, and for a moment, I just held her there, surprised and...maybe more than a little amused. I'd imagined this moment countless times, but definitely not like this. I almost laughed at the thought.

Trying to keep my expression serious, I looked down at her. "What were you thinking?" I scolded, masking my smile. "You're as clumsy as you are stubborn."

"Sorry..." she muttered, straightening up, her cheeks flushed. Her voice softened, and she added, "Sorry, sir."

I raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corners of my mouth. "Sorry? For what? Stlumbled?"

She looked away, embarrassed. "No...I mean, yes. But also for...earlier, in the parking lot. I didn't know you were the CEO."

I couldn't help but chuckle softly. She was apologizing, yet still as feisty as ever. This girl had a way of making me forget everything else.
