Monday
"Good morning my love."
Emily was woken up by her boyfriend, Mark. Everyday he would wake her up at seven, but little does he know, her brain has been awak for three hours.
Emily turned around and gave him a soft kiss on the lips. "Good morning baby." She closed her eyes.
He pulled her closer, trapping her in warm, a tight embrace. "Don't leave." He kissed her neck.
His breath can be felt on her neck, making her shiver; which was weird since his breath was warm. His nose slightly tickled her neck, making her jerk.
"We go through this everyday baby, I can't stay, you know that." She pulled him in for another kiss before getting up.
Mark doesn't seem to have the energy to argue, his breathing became heavier and his eyelid shuts. He always go back to sleep as soon as she leaves the bed; typical unemployed people behaviour.
Emily just stared at his stationary state - what the hell was she thinking.
She met Mark at a local pub she went to after reviewing a case. Emily was drunk and out of her mind when Mark approached her. Knowing her, she dragged him to the dance floor and started grinding. He was into it, but sober Emily wouldn't be. The next morning, she woke up with a man in her bed and can't seem to get away since then. It has been a month and she assumed that he has moved in. Though, it doesn't affect her much since she's at the office for most of the day.
The bathroom sink turned on as she hovered her hand. Her baggy eyes stared into the reflection of the bathroom mirror; fully taking in her messy state.
"Fucking hell." She placed her hands on the sink and rested there.
As much as she loves her job, it is tough. It has cost her everything; her time, her effort, her ability to stay motivated to live.
"Baby.." Mark slowly crept up and hugged her from behind.
His eyes are still half-shut; Emily stared at him through the reflection. He kissed her neck and his hands moved down to her hip. Her breathing became heavy, not this again.. she thought.
"I've gotta go.."
"Fuck that." He spins her around and placed her on the counter. "Stay with me instead." He kissed her passionately.
Again, the behaviour of an unemployed man..
However, she can't seem to pull away. His arms were wrapped around her tightly, barely giving her any room to breathe. When his kisses went down to her neck, she was finally able to slip out some words.
"Fuck- Mark I have to go, seriously." Her hands pushed him back slightly.
"Are you sure?" His chuckles tickled her skin.
"Yes." She grabbed his chin and kissed him one more time. "Seriously."
He doesn't get the memo and kept insisting for her to stay. It's like this everyday, but this morning seems to be a bit harder. He kept kissing her and she was kind of sick of it.
"Mark, respectfully, fuck off. I have to get ready for work." She pushed him a bit harder.
"You're such a bummer." He mumbled as he walked away.
She shook it off, God when is he getting out?
Emily brushed her teeth and lightly curled the ends of her hair. She opened the top drawer and put on some blush on her cheeks; it gave her face colour so she doesn't look like a dead corpse.
The motion light in her closet turned on as she walked in. She already prepared an outfit the night before; a full white suit. She debated wearing jewellery but decided against it.
Her phone rang, it was Luke Alvez, her right-hand man. The day barely started, he's not supposed to come in for another hour, what was he doing up?
"Alvez? What's wrong?" Emily puts the phone on her shoulder and squeezes it with her ear as she puts on her socks.
"Prentiss, you're supposed to be here in fifteen minutes. We're leaving for Virginia remember?" He half-yelled, he can hear her rustling and fiddling with something. "See, this is why I called, should've called sooner."
"Goddamn it! Alright I'm coming, will be there in fifteen."
"You have to be here in thirteen, hurry up!" He reminded her before hanging up.
"Fucking hell Luke- okay I'm rushing." She said but he had already hung up.
She ran down her apartment's stairs and to her car. Emily turned on the engine and slammed on the gas. She knew the way like it was muscle memory; she could drive to the field with her eyes closed if she wanted to (which she has).
She swerved right and pulled up right next to the group, nearly hitting one of them.
"Geez I know you hate me but it can't be that bad!" Luke joked.
"Shut up Alvez." Emily chuckled.
"Long flight ahead of us." Tom commented.
"They better be worth it." Emily mumbled as she stepped into the plane.
"All lives are worth it." Luke reminded her.
"I haven't got a chance to drink my coffee, so shut it." She smiled and shuts her eyes. "Tell me again, who is the Unit Chief of the BAU?" Emily didn't know since it was their first time working with the BAU.
She did initial research a month ago when she was bored, but has forgotten all about it.
"It's Aaron Hotchner. I've worked with the team for a case, catching a fugitive, Daniel Cullen. It was a pleasure, though their technical analyst will beg to differ." Alvez shared his experience. "Hotch is nice, the rest of the team as well. We will have a blast working with them. They love to crack open a cold brew after every case, trust me, working with them will be fun."
"That's good to hear; I could really use a beer right about now." Emily admits.
Their conversation was interrupted by Emily's phone; it was an unknown number.
"Hello?" She picked up.
"President Emily Prentiss? This is Agent Jennifer Jareau, I'm the Communications Liason for the FBI's Behavioural Analysis Unit. I got your number from our Technical Analyst, Penelope Garcia." JJ introduced herself via phone.
"Yes I'm familiar with her- how are you?" Prentiss replied.
"Good thank you ma'am. We are excited to meet you and your team, I will be there to greet you when you land." JJ really made her feel welcome.
Emily's team barely got off the ground.
"Thank you agent."
"We will be waiting. See you soon." JJ said.
"Buh-bye." Emily said.
The other four people looked at her and was curious.
"So?" Agent Thomas Kane asked.
"Their communication liason greeted us." Emily answered.
"Sounds fancy. Communication liason.." Agent Eloise Wayne repeated.
"I don't know about you lot but I'm going to sleep. Wake me up when it's time to land please." Emily shuts her eyes, "Alvez I swear to God if you draw a mustache on my face, you're off the team." She threatened.
Luke, with a marker behind his back, "Why the fuck would I do that? I'm not ten!"
"Sure." Emily smirked.
Emily closed her eyes, she hates the fact that she's going back to the USA. To be in the cane country as her mother; correction, the same state. It made Emily felt angry, and overwhelmed.
I swear if I run into that witch, I'm gonna kill myself on the spot.. but it's a big area right? Surely nothing bad will happen.
